Heh, I wouldn't call it a boring colour scheme. Nicely detailed, particularly at the transition between the two colours. The only thing I'd suggest is trying your hand at texturing it a bit more, maybe just hinting in parts to a few more prominent scales in places (a good pattern I've always found is to look at close-ups of iguanas and take cues from there). I think it'd really complement the shading that you've already done.

I definitely agree on the texturing - I added a little but really didn't carry it in far enough. On the scale front, I was aiming more for a rough, leathery skin than actual scaliness, as for some reason I see it being more like a modern rhino or elephant than a giant lizard!
