Invictus file 06 Anya March 1st 2000

This ought to be short and somewhat sweet, simply put I’ve never come across anything on earth or in other dimensions that remotely resembles anya. The implications of these findings are frightening and fascinating at the same time. To begin Anya is a predator that feeds off of the life energy of living or undead. She needs to consume and more often than not kill supernatural or super powered beings on a semi regular basis in order to nourish herself. She can feed off of regular humans but it takes thousands to slake her hunger for any appreciable amount of time. That is offset by an adaptable powerset I’ve termed evolution’s armory. Just about any weapon found in animals, plants, or bacteria are hers to use. I’ve seen her spray people with acid, electrocute them, grow claws sharp enough to rend reinforced armor, grow armor that shrugs off field artillery, and more. Anya along with serene, and lily are part of what I like to call our black ops division. A four man crew that infiltrates and weakens when having EOD01, Andrew, Hecryn, and Verrick turn cities into rubble isn’t the best solution. Fortunately Anya’s predatory instincts make her a natural espionage and retrieval specialist. Anya is seven and a half feet tall and weighs in at 650 pounds. She is heavily muscular with a thick powerful tail capable of smashing through reinforced metals with ease. She has unkempt dead white hair and jet black skin with green eyes in her face, her form is broadly human with feet that end in talons as opposed to toes.

Basic History
To begin with Anya was discovered on a remote farming village somewhere in a tundra by scouts from verricks army in 1368. She quickly devoured said scouts as well as the villiage she was discovered in along with several outlying farms as she wreaked havoc across what is now the Siberian region of the soviet union. She trekked westward until she came into contact with verricks forces and promptly tore most of them apart before being subdued by hecryn and brought before Verrick. It was at that point she was offered two choices serve or be killed. With her surprising eagerness in what I suspect is essentially submission to a more powerful predator anya served as verricks hunter eliminating troublesome humans and vampiers throughout verrick’s territories. During that time verrick saw fit to have her educated as far as she could be by the best scholars of the age. When verrick finally grew bored with running an empire she was content to hunt as she pleased occasionally returning to the castle to attend to her master. When the invasion of ’95 hit and aliens were raining from the sky it was an all you can eat buffet for her. Though her food came close to killing her on more than one occasion she was having in her words the time of her life.

Nervous system
Anya’s nervous system is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Instead of anything resembling a traditional nervous system she instead has a neuro conductive gel that saturates her entire body. This makes her immune to most ltl weaponry and highly resistant to pain.


Bone structure
Anya’s bone structure is puzzling, her skeletal structure alters between cartilage and a dense composite of innumerable minerals. Its composition shifts almost constantly and how it doesn’t cause her body to fail is a mystery, but I surmise it’s one of the reasons she cannot subsist on regular meat and blood.

Muscle structure
Fun fact mamilian muscle is approximately 1.06 kg/liter anya’s is 5.15 kg/liter. She is a heavily muscled extradimensional super predator her strength extends into is B-. Her muscles produce few fatigue toxins and possess explosive strength, she can exert herself for months at a time before tiring.

Senses
Anya’s senses are better than an animal’s but not quite as sharp as serenes. She can however tune into other frequencies and visual spectrums that serene can’t however and has an easier time seeing into the bands that serene can perceive. If anya gets so much as a whiff of someone, sees them once, or so forth she can find them across continents her predatory instincts and senses merge together to make her the ultimate huntress.

Skin
Anya has a thick hide that can take sustained heavy machinegun fire like it’s a light breeze. Anything short of a heat round is just going to annoy her and her being annoyed can get very messy very quickly. Combined with her musculature she can shrug off anything short of a main battle tank. Other than that it tends to function close to human skin. When she does sweat her body exudes a counter to eliminate her own scent then mimics the scent of her surroundings.

Circulatory system
Anya’s blood is an ever shifting chemical concoction, like chaos chips they can alter themselves to become whatever her body needs instantly. This allows her to heal rapidly granting her C+ regenerative capabilities and is a cornerstone in her morhpic capabilities. Her blood is what turns into the acids and specialized cells and even organ systems that allow her to utilize the weaponry of the natural world.

Digestive system
Anya has a tiered digestive tract, each with progressively more corrosive acids in order to swiftly break down fat muscle and hair, cartilage and ligaments, and then finally bone. All of these have a direct link to her circulatory system allowing the food she eats to be rapidly processed into nourishment for the rest of her.

Brain
Anya’s brain denotes a number of things, a high emotional range being one of them. Anya can voluntarily trigger a berserker rage that makes her immune to pain and telepathic control, increases her strength and resilience to A- levels and frees her from external control as well as making her mind impossible to read or influence. Even in this state she can distinguish friend from foe. Anya’s ability to walk between vicious predator and what is essentially a normal person with little difficulty is enviable and evidence of a high degree of emotional intelligence almost on par with serene’s.

Power set
As mentioned anya is evolutions weapons locker her power has two stages one is using the abilities of the plant, and animal kingdoms for her own, the other is amping said abilities to drastic heights. Amping makes her abilities more potent for instance she can make, a destroying angel’s poison becomes lethal enough to kill on contact, the wings she grows can propel her to sonic speeds, the acid spray of a bombardier beetle melts through the toughest materials mystic or otherwise. The more often she amps up her abilities the quicker she gets hungry requiring the flesh and blood of supernatural or post human beings. Normally Anya can go a month without feeding, however field use oftentimes necessitates the use of amping which typically brings her need to feed to once a day. In addition to being able to take traits from animals and plants anya can also communicate with any animal (haven’t tried talking with aliens yet). She can command them as well which can serve as a helpful screen or recon. This comes in handy if verrick is can’t help due to anti magic fields or is just being an asshole.

Skill set
As mentioned before anya is a master huntress able to track anyone anywhere with the faintest of clues. Furthermore she’s a capable fighter not just from her own natural strength but from utilizing two very different styles of fighting. One was inspired by watching ballet dances, she came to admire the poise and control they had over their actions and spent centuries imitating, then studying, and ultimately refining the grace and economy of motion in dance to her own fighting style. This was truly refined when serene trained with her and is now essentially her default combat style whenever trouble arises. Though definitely not a master she is nonetheless an expert combatant even against an opponent of similar strength and speed she is more than capable of winning. Additionally her other combat style sees her abandoning all reason and ripping into an opponent until there’s nothing left but wet chunks on the ground. This berserker state is something she tends to use as a last resort as a more skilled opponent can turn all that power against her. Anya speaks a few languages semi fluently but her native language is Russian owing that to where she was found. She recently learned English although it tends to be peppered with Russian words, but also speaks and reads romani, polish, german, greek, French, and latin quite well. She has quite a talent for learning able to cobble a native fluency of Russian from what I assume were the panicked screams of the serfs that found her as she massacred them wholesale. She has managed to adapt to the modern world readily gaining competency in the use of modern technology akin to the average adult. She possesses comprehensive knowledge of all animals, terrain, and plants on the planet able to recall the most obscure facts about them allowing her to truly use the environment to her advantage. Her natural skill at setting traps using natural material, her powers, or my own explosives have devastated our foes as most think that just because we have super powers we’re going to slug it out in the streets with them like school yard kids. Anya is an expert at picking someone apart psychologically as well, having a seeming knack at picking out what makes people afraid. She and serene work well in determining the best course of action when it comes to interrogating people. Furthermore despite being over seven feet tall and weighing close to seven hundred pounds Anya can move silently enough to bypass nightingale boards, disappear from direct trained observation, and so on. She can track a person across continents from catching a small whiff of them, and can rapidly adapt to any environment. Her instincts make her a surprisingly adaptive combatant something that has saved her and us more than a few times.

Psychology
First and foremost anya is not like us and thus has few appreciations for human social norms. We constantly have to remind her to wear clothes and not smell or lick people or worse mark her territory. Then there’s her odd fascination with mortal beings, she sees humans and non powered beings like puppies or kittens and again has to be constantly reminded that not everyone is as resilient as she is so she doesn’t snap someone’s spine on accident. We’ve had more than one person get a tongue bath from her because they were “filthy”. Anya is playful around regular people since they don’t do anything for her and really can’t hurt her under most circumstances. In spite of her lack of understanding when it comes to social norms she can be quite perceptive of certain social cues. This is likely due to her incredible senses each of which are even more precise than serene’s. She does love her little games of peekaboo off mission that’s for sure. She is an avid fan of dance, particularly ballet as it was one of the first things that drew her to regard human beings as something other than things that ran away screaming from her. She has a fondness of animals as well, not just because she can command them or adopt their characteristics in battle but a real kinship. While she thinks of most humans as harmless this won’t stop her from dealing with particularly dangerous humans permanently. For her killing isn’t something that has any real moral component, it is essentially a regular thing she has to do in order to survive rather than something to fret over. As far as she is concerned people super or non don’t become food unless she’s truly hungry. Moral codes fascinate her she has talked with Andrew for long periods of time about philosophy and morality. I suspect her questioning of moral codes along with other things shows anya broadening her horizons. This along with scans of her physiology lead me to conclude that she is still immature for her species. Interesting note though she’s flirted with and indeed slept with a few men she seems to have far more romantic and sexual interest in women.


Team relations
Anya has been rather forthcoming in her opinions on us which will be detailed below.

Serene
Drug Detsva is always fun to be around off mission, on mission we compliment each other well.

Lily
Koroleva is always so uptight, so angry and wound up, she probably just needs more hugs….

Hector
Voyna always has a plan and can’t seem to stop thinking no matter what. I think he needs to learn how to rest once in a while.

EOD01
Begemot’s perpetual frown is troubling but he was made for a purpose that he seems all too willing to fulfill.

Hecryn
Rytsar’ was the one who brought me in and showed me a much larger world for that I am humbled and grateful.

Verrick
The Tsar is stern but has traces of warmth and I for one will always be happy to serve at his side.

Andrew
The legkiy has shown me an even wider world humans are so….marvelously complicated.

Forward from Andrew
For the most part Anya has shown little interest in where she might be from however Andrew knew or at least had a much better idea than the rest of us. Anya is a dimensional refugee from a race of beings who travel from reality to reality preying on high energy beings across the multiverse. Such high energy beings include powered individuals, deities, and other extra normal beings. According to Andrew they are a subspecies of demi urges who feed on universes whose physical laws become too unstable and threaten the structure of the multiverse. Due to the nature of their prey, their solitary nature, slow reproduction habits, and low population density make them exceedingly rare. Furthermore contact with rival dimensional predators further compounds the issue of population for Anya’s species. Per Andrew being jettisoned by a parent to a high energy universe is basically par for the course for the life cycle of Anya’s species as neither the male, or female of the species raise children. From infancy Anya’s species are able to take the characteristics of all flora and fauna from the animals of whatever planet they land on. Once Anya’s species reaches maturity they can freely travel across realities in search of prey.
