Constructive criticism is welcomed
I've had this one I've been working on once in a while but I'm still not happy with where to put the light on this one and decided to see what would happen if I asked for a bit of help. I have already decided where the light comes from but I'm a bit unsure where to place all the light. Maybe I should add a cave in the background or not.

If you don't mind me saying, perhaps again a deeper chest might or just wider body work well on this piece?
I always try to think of the lungs, heart, stomach est would fit in the body (:
Imagining or drawing a skeleton of sorts in sketch stage usually helps.
My only critique on this is that the neck is the same width as the body on this piece.
If you look at a snake skeleton even they aren't the same width all the way down http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....e_skeleton.jpg
However, I really like the frills, they look really nice and it's easy to imagine this guy swimming using them to glide through the water.
Again. nice anatomy on the front legs, I like that you've added the "hand" shape to the foot, it gives an idea of how his anatomy moves.
And the bubbles look super ^_^
Also I like the highlights :D I suck at cell shading! lol, you do it quite well ^___^

Deeper chest... hm I guess you're speaking about something like this link However, I'm unable to edit the lines and I'm also feeling like finding and show the first image I did of this species to show how it looks like. And that's the left front leg/paw that you see there.
About the artwork: Done by free hand, more info here related to this style of mine link (also updated version, color only)
Note to myself: Find the first image I did of this species. and then I shall get back to you about the shape of it's body.
Cell shading, is that what this is called? I'm glad you like the bubbles and the frills :)
(...hide my comment because I posted at the wrong place ^^;)

To the image you linked, YEP! exactly ^__^ nice specious chest cavity to fit all the organs inside :D
Haha its cool, no need to edit the lines ^^ just because I critique things like shape and colour doesn't mean I expect you to change anything lol.
I'm simply pointing at things which could possibly be an idea for next time, but of course its your style so its up to you whether or not you agree with the critique or not :)
My word isnt law hahaha!
lol and no worries XD I done that before!
Most embarrassing thing is commenting to the wrong person, I done that before too HAHAHA!!!

Your word is law when it comes to your own work, and the same goes for all of us I'm quite sure.
Well, I only left a comment to myself so there's nothing wrong with that I'm sure.
I'm still ready to be feed even more critique comments and answer them the best i can ^.^ So come on I will find em all and comment on them :)

This will be updater another day but for now this one is a male.
Quick info:
They are called Sea Dragons atm but I'm thinking of maybe change some of the info maybe and turn them into some kind of a sea monster. I guess it's the part of me that's tired on calling things that are no dragon really that are telling me to do that maybe.
Anyway they live deep down in the sea and oceans all over the world, have been found in caves or streams or rivers that lead to the sea/ocean and only during a full moon they leave the safety of water to look around on land. They demand respect before showing it and like to eat fish and meat mostly. They hide from other land creators or just stay away from them. They can move swiftly and run quite fast on land thanks to their legs. Can stand on their back legs if needed. There's no info about the females yet but they might live on land or in water and that may be the reason to why the males travel far into land to maybe find one to mate with one.
I know that those deep sea creators who live in water may very well look weird compaired to other water living species.
I said I would get back to you
