I really love how the little fins turned out, and the lighting bolt tracker is cute too. Shark tails are fun to make!

xDD So happy you like it! The dark grey fur is a bit shiny, but it's quite seriously the only dark grey I can find ANYWHERE *grumble grumble* Hopefully it doesn't take away from it too much!
I'll send you an invoice for the rest + shipping later tonight once I pack it up and weigh it :3

It is absolutely perfect from where I'm looking! Makes it look like a real shark tail.
But I will definitely be sure to review it once I get my hands on it.

Thanks! I don't know of any tutorials or patterns, if you're not so good at sewing you should probably work on getting the basics down on something a bit simpler!

It's just my personal preference. Besides, sharks aren't smooth as dolphins, they do have a texture to them. Using short pile here gives it that coarser feel that, in my opinion, is ideal for a shark tail.

Because faux fur gives you room for mistakes, as seams can be brushed to look flawless. Any other material shows off seams. Plus, as MrMittens said, sharks aren't smooth.

I think shortpile fur looks sleeker than fleece, and it doesn't show seams

That looks like short pile -otter/beaver pile I believe is what Mendel.com calls it. It tends to have a shine and its very tightly woven faux fur. I very much could be wrong but that's how the picture looks ^~^

Unless they used another fur that I am unaware of, I requested short pile, to give it a coarser feel.

It's from CR crafts in the seal fur section. They have two, it's the darker one but I can't remember what they call it, it's obvious from their pictures though! It's the darkest grey I've been able to find anywhere.
