This pic was another that was rescued from the crypt. I don't know what purpose I drew it for, maybe an aborted attempt at another mudwalk series, since she's got on the platform maryjanes. Whatever the reason, this pic definitley wsn't ready for primetime (or even a quick color job). I extensivley reworked the pencils, changing the orientation of both legs, redrawing her feet to make them smaller (they were really out of proportion to the rest of her). Topping off all that is giving her an actual torso, as it seems to be a recurring defect in my anatomy work that I make them too short (remnants of an early effort to be the exact opposite of a "cute" character's physique (i.e. baby-like)). Here, Tina reaches out to see if more raindrops are coming after one hits her in the nose. From the looks of those clouds, she may not have long to wait.
In an effort to save time, (I was trying to cram in two complete pics today) I employed a couple of photos for backdrops, one I took the previous day of an interesting towering cumulus cloud amidst a group of approaching thunderstorms for the sky, the other a stone retaining wall from a local park to stick behind the bench. This pic was traced via brush ink on the equivalent of a lightbox (actually a clear lap-desk over an upended fluorescent desk lamp) since the orignal was done on some of that rough-textured 25% cotton-fiber paper that would have murdered the lineart had I attempted to ink on it.
