So, it occurred to me that I had never drawn Mewtwo, in spite of him being one of my favorite Pokemon and one of the more sympathetic figures in the series.
Mewtwo finds an injured baby pichu and vows to protect it and give it a chance to survive and grow. He makes a solemn promise to put the suffering of the past behind him and find a better place, where life is more than pain. A place where one can learn to trust and to love again. And in so searching, maybe Mewtwo has already begun to find what he's looking for.

It sounds like you may not have seen the scene that 4kids took out of the first Pokemon movie that explains Mewtwo's true origin story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw7qHqm2t6U (it gets different from the movie 2 minutes in)
Really upset it was removed from the movie, but so happy when I found it

Thank you. I definitely wanted to show it. I've always loved Mewtwo as a character.
If you want to see more of this side of Mewtwo, you can see it officially in the movie "Mewtwo Returns." (Not "Mewtwo Strikes Back," which was the first movie. This is a different one.) Mewtwo is incredibly protective and chooses not to fight any longer so he can live in peace. But that's not always as easy as it seems.
It is the one and only time I can honestly say that I think the main anime portrayed a character better than any other version. Mewtwo was wise, sympathetic, and filled with the desire to overcome the abuse of his past.
