Wild skunks aren't usually this curious, but I've know them to be just about that fearless.

I had something similar happen to me only with a squirrel.

See, I was napping in my car at school, and I had my windows down for the breeze. Well, I felt a pressure on my chest and I opened my eyes to see a squirrel sitting on my stomache. I said "can I help you?" and he ran out and back into the wooded area. I think he was after the McDonald's bags in my car.

Squirrels can be pretty gutsy when there're used to people. We used to have one that sat on the rail at the top of the fence, legs spread out, looking like a sunbather. She wouldn't always leave just because one of the family went out in the back yard.

Not good unless spending a week submerged in a ten foot deep pool of tomato juice is good. The trouble with tomato juice is that its red... and you can't read a book through it.

Aww, it'll be fine. Just give the little cutie a nilla wafer and a scritch behind the ears and nobody will get sprayed, I'm sure. ^_~

I doubt he'd be picky. Pour a little into the lid/cup thingie and set it down and he'll be happy. Maybe he'll even stick around for more, he'd make a cute little pet. ^_^

I have been told that hydrogen peroxide with baking soda and a little soap is the best. I assume that it should be okay to dilute ordinary 3% a little. Don't premix, it bubbles.

I have never spoken to anybody that has used it.

If you have access to commercial peroxide, dilute it!!!!!

Reminds me of the time on a Scout camping trip. We left Tastykake™ wrappers near our scoutmaster's head and he woke up staring a skunk in the face... :)

My father once woke up and found a bat on his pillow next to him... and that was at home in his bedroom. Come to think of it, once we were camping and he woke up with a giant cicada on his pillow that time. He must have attracted vermin... like attracting like.

How'd you do that with the Airbrush Tool? Looked really good!

Fairly elementary, really. I use the Selection tool to isolate a leg or the head from the rest of the picuture first, then use black at very low pressure. 2% typically. If you go for higher pressures -- above 5% even -- then you get much faster results, but it becomes exponentially harder to control the spray and likely as not the gradiant is too patchy. Occasionally its not practical to Select the area I want to spray and I just clean up outside lines with the Paint Brush tool.

I remember reading a story in reader's digest many years ago written by someone that rescued an infant skunk from a dead mother. They never bothered to have it descented, and it never caused any problems. Except once. It was napping under a pillow when a cat jumped up onto the pillow. Scared the cat, they had to bath the skunk. Not sure what they did to sofa or pillow.

It eventually wandered off while in heat about 2 years later.

They heard stories of it wandering into a picnic and terrifying everybody. Poor thing did not know why everybody ran off.

Relatively timid animals that become used to people fairly easily.
