Well, hey, lookit that, something I can put on my FA.
This is for Zero the Non Hero. (I'd link to her page but she's stopping using it, even forgot the account information, so no use, really...)

This is her main character, Zero the Non Hero, indulging in a little happy dancing.
I have made this from sprites that have been hovering around internet for a long time, modifying them into what you see here.
It was a lonely afternoon and she was away and I missed her. And I wanted to surprise her with something, so I made this. She loved it. ^^
But, Aaargh! I forgot to erase some white pixels in some of the frames! I hate them and myself for it! They're looking at me.... laughing at me! I wish I kept the photoshop file... I'd have to do it all over again!
Edit: Never mind!
fara went back on this for me and erased them for me! Which is an awesome thing for him to do! Thanks!

This is quite good. If this is something you do rarely, I'd be surprise because the skill is above average.
On another subject, you want to know why I watched you? In this case, I saw potential. For one thing, the quality of the work here is good enough for watch. In case you ever decide to do more, I will watch.

Well, to be honest, it's true that I don't do this often. But I'd like to point out again that I did not make this from scratch. I modified this animation: http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/.....dancedance.gif
But thank you still for these kind words! it's really encouraging. I guess it's true that as far as modifying already-existing sprites goes, I got a few commendable skills.
But still, These are no real drawings. I'm just rehashing or adding to someone else's work.

What was the process you used to change it?
I'm asking because I had a thought. If you want to do your own work, whynot become a sprite artist?
Practice on creating your own designs. Not really animations, but just stills.
I have some suggestions if you want to try. They're only theories based on guesses, however, but I hope you consider them, if you're interested. You could see for yourself if they're plausible.

Hehe, I'm already quite the sprite "artist". :P I went down the "Megaman sprite comics" line. (and yes, I used only original characters that weren't just a bunch of recolors) I have a huge folder of sprite sheets.
But the process I use Is simply MS paint. it's what does it best for me. I recolor what needs to be recolored using the eraser trick, shade by shade, and modify the rest manually one frame at a time.
But do tell what you have in mind, I'm curious. :)

Sorry for taking so long. I did remember, but I wasn't sure how to respond.
I didn't realize you were a sprite artist. I just assumed all you were capable of was what you said in the artist's comment. Glad I was wrong again.
As for what my suggestion was, it was that you practice on individual parts with your own design from other sprites. For instance, drawning original ears or the whole head.
I see now that was what you already know how to do.

Heh, don't worry too much about the meme. I had to tag a few people so I just picked whoever I thought were active enough to go for it.
As far as spriting went, I've started working on a random sprite from scratch. So far the character is 50 x 100 (pixels) just to see if I didn't lose my hand. And so far it's looking pretty good. Not sure if I'll post in on FA though. (It's hyooman) But seeing how it goes, I might be making more sprites of furry chars. ('ve actually got plans for a new animation)
