"Finally, the last colossus... The ritual is nearly over... Thy wish is nearly granted... But someone now stands to get in thy way... Make haste, for time is short..."
- Dormin
Dooo0oo00oone! This one took me quite a while to complete, but it was worth it.
Anyway, this is for Ikunoche on Flight Rising, who won a portrait raffle from me forever ago. She originally asked me to draw one of her non-FR dragon characters, but I was having a super hard time with it, so I asked her for something else instead. She then suggested that I draw her skydancer, Colossus: http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=1952981 Which is awesoooome.
But when she told me that Colossus was based on Shadow of the Colossus, I was extra pumped. I just *had* do something based on the game, I just had to. So (of course) I tried to show him fighting a colossus, but that didn't work unless I converted it into a huge, full-body illustration... which I didn't want to do. Then I tried showing him in front of the Shrine of Worship, but that didn't quite work out either. So I racked my brain for iconic things from the game when I remembered the doorway leading to the final colossus. So here's Colossus checking his location with his sword as he heads for his final opponent.
Oh, and I didn't include the little vest or the shoulder guards because they looked kind of weird at this angle. I hope that's okay, Ikunoche! ^^ I can try to edit them in if they're 100% necessary, though I can't guarantee that they'll look very good from the back like this. (The scapulars got in the way of the vest while the shoulder guards would just be random triangles on the shoulders... I think? Really, FR's shoulder guards don't make a lot of sense when you think about them, haha. XD)
Uh, yeah. That's enough babbling from me. I hope you like it! ^^

Thanks again! <3
It's one of those images that's simple in theory ("Oh, it's a portrait of a dragon looking at a doorway. Simple enough.") but it totally wasn't in practice. Figuring out the perspective on the pillars and the pillars' shadows took me longer than I'd like to admit (I even mapped out the dragon's face to the same vanishing points).
...I think I like perspective lines too much. .___.
