Crimson Cakelings are small guardians that are usually assigned to children when they make a wish with all their heart. While they usually guard the hopes of children it is not too uncommon to find them bound to adults.

Cakelings are very small, usually not over 6-7 inches tall. They often smell sweet like cake or frosting but can have other pleasant aromas due to mutations. Cakelings are almost always red but a few have been known to be other colors.
A Cakeling will protect a persons wish until it is achieved, once the wish is fulfilled the Cakeling usually will move onto the next child but some become very attached to their human and will stay with them until death. If the person's wish dies while under the care of a Cakeling the Cakeling will also die.
The gems floating around the Cakeling are the source of its power and will glow when in use. The rings around the Cakeling have different uses according to where they are placed. Rings behind the back are used for flight, the rings around their headwings are used for hearing, and the wings around their heads are used for higher thinking and in some cases used for magic.
