Kijuuki Jougen, cyborg, hacker, fugitive
Adopted into the Nippotominian Jougen family early in his life, Kijuuki Jougen was number three of a batch of twenty Ibycai crane clones intended for adoption into the general civilian population. Kijuuki only left Hokkaida after he had finished his education, and immediately sought out work among the corporate sector. Specializing in software engineering/development and holography, he eventually signed up with Nimbus Heavy Industries and worked there for a period of time developing various security and housekeeping software. Unfortunately for him, NHI eventually became especially interested in his mental talents and eventually activated an obscure medical element in his contract that allowed the corporation to use him for testing. They had originally intended to remove all his organic elements in the end, turning him into an android, serving as a test bed for their more advanced cybernetics in the interregnum.
Kijuuki was able to orchestrate his escape between the gaps in the testing, eventually contracting some mercenary pirates to help him get away from NHI Cadmus Station, where he was being held. Immediately after his escape, NHI posted a very large bounty on the bird, and he has been on the run ever since.
A significant portion of Kijuuki’s body is artificial, and he has mixed feelings about it. He had entertained the idea of getting cybernetics in the past, and he finds a lot of the kit he has cool, but he would have liked to have more say in the process. A noteworthy addition to his body was a prototype quantum computer unit in his head, one which requires organic interface to work. This is the main reason that NHI wants him back so badly. It can help him with his hacking work, but he prefers to use his own brain for most of the work, using the quantum computer unit for background processing of information, analysis, and storage. Other noteworthy systems include built in hologram projectors, wireless hookups, several power cells, and augmented eyesight. The last one allows him to view things very far away and magnify close objects and analyze what he sees with his other systems. He has even rigged up a system where he could run facial recognition and retrieve background information on people he sees if he is able to link in with the local police network.
Kijuuki enjoyed hacking computer systems all through his youth, and he even specialized in security software development. That combined with his unique artificial traits makes him remarkably useful to any group of, say pirates, who wish to illegally bypass electronic security, retrieve information, or deface databases. Kijuuki specializes in such things. On the side, Kijuuki likes making art, specifically holograms from scratch. He also is an amateur photographer.
Kijuuki can fly on his own as well, but in normal gravity it is difficult at best, often reduced to merely gliding. To allow him to fly in normal gravity conditions, he often wears a gravity resist pad, toggling it on when he wishes to fly somewhere himself. It reduces his relative mass and just makes it a lot easier for him to get around in the air.
Personality wise, Kijuuki is humble, though rather nervous and fidgety, prone to stuttering and half repeating sentences. Despite that, he is generally very optimistic and open to new ideas, even with his introverted nature. He never carries a gun either, considering himself a pacifist (though not for some idealistic nature or reputation, he merely doesn't like hurting people). He would rather not get involved in violence if possible. He also has a somewhat mild case of OCD; preferring things to stay organized and properly laid out neatly if possible. He also doesn’t like touching anything he thinks might be covered in germs or would leave any trace of residue on his hands.
