I enjoy making these tails.

I'm really starting to get the hang of using different lengths of hair for a more natural look, and the base/belt loop area is getting tidier with each tail I make.

I used kanekalon for a horse tail I made. However, I didn't weave it, but did make a dock to give it that lift and fall. Do you have any tips or can direct me to some sort of tutorial because you've done a wonderful job on this tail, and I'd like to remake my tail using a technique more along the lines of what you did. :) Again great work!
Oh man, I tried to reply on my phone and just sent it to myself :/

Okay, I don't have any tutorials but I will try to describe my method.
I use plastic canvas to make the dock - you can see it in the close up of the base there.
I weave/root/sew (not sure on the correct term) the hair to the canvas while its flat, then roll it into a cylinder and sew that in place and add a belt loop at the top.
The actual method of attaching the hair is adapted from the technique I use to reroot my little ponies. The tutorial I learnt from is still online http://www.aikarin.com/mlp/customs/rerooting.html and it explains it better than I ever could! BUT instead of glueing the knots to the canvas, I sew them with normal cotton thread. Usually twice through the knot and once through the canvas. I've never pulled any plugs out and I brush pretty hard!
I don't sew every hole in the canvas- that would take forever and the tail would be crazy bushy. I sew in a pattern that fills about 1 in 5 holes with hair.
It's very time consuming, but I enjoy it. If you make your own please let me know how it goes.
