Consumer's Digest Volume 2: Open Call for Proposals!
SPACE! Some say it’s the final frontier… Who knew they were being so literal? In this time of scientific discovery and environmental decay, now more than ever we look towards the stars with a hunger for exploration. And perhaps a hunger for explorers. Probably both. But mostly that latter one.
Consumers Digest is coming back in January! And this time, it’ll be out of this world! But don’t worry, you can still purchase it here on Earth. That was just a play on words involving the theme of the ‘zine: SPACE! That’s right, all the pages in this new magazine will involve cosmic content of some type, beit spaceships or aliens or some sexually confusing Neil DeGrasse Tyson furs (although that last one is not guaranteed, but we’re not denying the possibility either). And, of course, all the content will feature the attraction that made our first issue such a success: Vore.
Do you want to be featured in the magazine? Well now’s your chance to make it happen! Send us your content proposal to our email address swallowtailproductions[at]gmail.com (do NOT send a note) with the heading ‘Your Name Consumers Digest 2 Proposal,’ or something close to that as we’ll get the general gist. This proposal can be as simple or detailed as you want to make it, but we need it to feature the following: 1) A link to sample work of yours that the final content will resemble, 2) The total number of pages in the magazine you’ll be seeking to fill (there is a maximum of 10, and we ask that you give us a range in case we need to trim your proposed work to fit it in the ‘zine), 3) A description of your proposed content including any potentially controversial or copyright-infringing moments (other peoples’ characters count in this category). You do not have to send a full script or sketch work, however we will not discourage such. The due time for all proposals is the 31st of October!
For visual artists the dimensions of the finished art piece must be 9 inches x 7 inches at 300 DPI. The pixel conversion is 2100 x 2700. This accounts for margin within the magazine, so you can draw up to the edge of the canvas if you so wish. If you’d like a little *page break* space, you can go about ¼” on all sides beyond this margin listed above.
For writers we ask the same dimensions, but you’ll need to space out your writing at 11pt Font, Times New Roman, Single Spaced, and in a two column format with paragraph spaces. If you are chosen as writer in the magazine we encourage a few art pieces to be thrown in as well, so try to leave a few blocks of space for that as well. If you do not have an artist to help you on this front, we can have one of our own do a few b/w basic sketches.
Contributors to the digest will receive a percent of sales equal to their page count and retain ownership over all the content they produce. Content is not limited to illustrated work, however due to the nature of the ‘zine it will be prioritized over purely written proposals (this should not discourage writers from sending proposed work, just know it is a more challenging proposition). Proposed content must be previously unreleased work and we request it be kept unreleased even after the magazine is published, to your own benefit.
As a suggestion for content, remember this is a magazine about vore. This should be the central theme above all else. We are looking for good narration and stories as well, but it’s usually better to show more vore than talk that will eventually lead up to it. Also, remember the space theme!
A NOTABLE DIFFERENCE THIS TIME AROUND: The alternates list is dead, we now have a reserve list. What does that mean? Well if you propose work (or send us completed work) and we simply do not have room to fit you into the magazine, we will still distribute your content in the form of an ‘Overstuffed’ collection of bonus content sent to patrons who purchase the Mild and Spicy magazine bundle, digital releases only. Contributors featured in the Overstuffed collection will not be paid, seeing as this bonus content is freely distributed, however their work will be seen by a large number vore fans within and sometimes outside of the community. Reserve list contributors also have the chance of making it into the magazine proper in the event another contributor drops out of our lineup. If the reserve list becomes large enough, it may become practical to change our plans and sell it as well in another magazine collection. Reserve listers can choose to leave or post their work at any time and retain ownership of their content.
Some obvious pun about nobody being able to hear you belch in space or something. SPACE!

Um.... for space? Wow that is out of this world xD
Hmmmm.... I just don't know if I have time... maybe
The thing with space is that you have to set up the atmosphere in order to make the concept of the idea work. Which means multiple parts. I don't know if I can think of an anthro alien but I might ^^;
I'll let you know soon if I can. this concept seems to need to have 'parts' in order for it to work. On earth or a planet, we are already used to the 'area' we put out characters in. In space, thats a different story ^^; <3
