For some people, Rock and Roll is the devil's music, but for Amy that association was always reserved for southern blues. Legend had it that only those who had sold their soul at the crossroads could truly play the blues, but Amy made a good show of it none the less.

Given the fall timing of the album release, Amy decided to play up the witchcraft and devil worship association with her marketing material. She even incorporated the costume during some of her live performances near halloween, though she had to modify the gloves to allow her to properly play her guitar.
