Banana Spiders. I used to get them around the house until I had a guy come out and spray. Those things are wiked. I was bite by one that was knocked to the ground during Hurricane Ivan back in 2004. Not fun.

yeah thats why I took pictures of her from on the porch... and not got anywhere near her... I have a hole in my side froma spider bite...

I've seen groups of about 15-20 in Florida. Most I've heard of in one spot was about 50. Sometimes the webs are high up, so you have to look up. :D

That's such a neat spider, and I'm not familiar with this species at all, so getting to see a new spider is a big treat! It must be a tropical climate spider. The only spiders I've seen in the Appalachias are Wolf spiders, teeny tiny cobwebby spiders, spiders with spiky rears, spiders that make those intricate webs that are like houses, ground spiders, and.. A Spider-Man sighting over a decade ago xD

But yeah, you folks in Florida must have some neat wildlife =3

haha up in PA my favorites were the big black and yellow garden spiders. I had one that had an eggsack in a little bug holder she cralwed in... the eggs never hatched tho cause of a cold spell

Ah, I've seen at least 10 spiders with egg sacs on them, and a couple of spiders with actual teeny tiny spider babies all over their rear. They were so adorable ^.^

These are one of my favorite spiders, they are quite gentle, and rarely bite. If you see one in your garden leave it there, cheaper than pesticides xP

I happen to love spiders, myself. I blame media for making people so fearful of them, really. =B Such a lovely lady, she is. You're lucky to see one like that! Rarest things I ever find in my yard are either lizards (tiny ones that I can't remember the name of) or praying mantises.
