Setting: Netherworld from Overlord 2 and many, many fanfictions I dare say.

Creature in question: A black minion, created from the flesh of Taegan and from a hefty dose of evil energy. Tail is suitable for acting both as a mace of some description, as an impaling device, and as a stabilizer during flight. Or free fall because they rarely flap their "wings" (that are actually a membrane that they can send back inside their body if they so desire and summon again when needed, making them look like any other minion without wings if they so desire), rather they jump from cliffs and ride on the hot currents of air that come to meet them from deeper down in the Netherworld. They also like to climb if they wish to go from place A to place B. Inside their mouths and throats, they have a tongue that acts kind of like the tongue of an amphibian would, but in this case it rolls out, straightens, and tries to wrap around something or also impale something preferably fleshy. The tongue also has bone like spikes protruding from it, much in the similar way species of giant squids have "claws"/barbs/talons/spikes in their tentacles. Purpose of the spikes is to rip meat and other food and to bring it to the mouth of the black minion, as well as to cause as much pain and suffering to those that the black minion decides to fight against. Some black minions even use their tongues as a form of a lasso while hunting for prey or fighting against one another.

Ramul also pointed out a fair point about that description, which is that the tongue might prevent them from speaking properly. Mmmm suggestion?
