We've had visitors during FC, but given that I'm focused on the con when it's happening I usually have folks come out just before or right after it. However, if I can get everyone together all at once for the trip a visit has been known to happen during FC.
I just found out you roomed with a friend I know online during FAU2 actually. So neat how paths cross so easily thanks to the net. His name is The Beast Within here on FA and I've been chatting with him for awhile. He's been slowly inching over my way the past year or so two with his move and all =)

*Wags his tail a bit at that* Oh, I quite understand. Though if I were to make it out that way, I'd certainly be there for at least a week or so, rather than just for the Con. I'm nary apt to travel that far just for a three-day event. o_O So perhaps I'll stop by sometime and bark at you... Softly, mind. No need to wake the neighbours. ^^
Ah, yes! A fine fellow, he. ^^ Kind enough to have dealt with such a dog as I for the duration of the convention, so hats off to him. *Noddles* I do believe I didn't drive him too terribly crazy. *Snickerwoofs* And at this rate, he'll have himself somewhere in the Pacific by this time next year!

Well, for extended stays here we usually like to know the folks IRL before obligating to an overnight or extended stay type commitment. It's just kind of a practical safety rule for us and the pack. Had someone pan out to be really nuts one time and we've been a little shy ever since about such things. Not implying this is the case with you of course. We just like to know folks first. We love getting to see the interaction with people and the pack.
And yup, the beast speaks highly of you too. I think you impressed him rather than made him think you were crazy. Had a good chat with him last night catching up and all. I've just had a decent amount of time on my hands the past few days off. Especially since I threw my back out. I'll definitely have to bark and sniff ya sometime. Biting isn't always such a bad thing =P

Oh! That I understand, of course. *noddles* I hadn't meant to imply I would be staying with you- I apologize. >_< I simply meant a visit when in the area. I'm hardly a dog who likes to trouble others any more than I already do. So I hardly consider invading others' privacy in such a manner. *Shakes his head* Just a visit, that's all. ^^ Even a wave at the Con. *Wags his tail in absent amusement*
Oh, most people tend to flatter the border collie dog beyond his actual attributes. But I managed to catch him for a moment, myself; off traveling again, isn't he. ^^ And oh, my... I do hope your back gets to feeling better soon. That's a part of the body that quite limits your movements when it's gone. *Nods thoughtfully, then grins* Oh, maybe I'll nibble first....

Well, I'm always a good host (I think) if I have even short visits from ppl. The flattery point you mention...yeah, only known one person who let it go to their heads to the point that they cast me aside like driftwood. That still hurts mainly because I was defending a mutual friend who had helped this person even more. Oh well, some folks just don't understand what a bond is I guess.
As for rest...man, I've had plenty of that. Now it's time to suck it up and see if I can hold my own at work tonight.
And attention is always good for the soul. Good to know there's friends who care. That and it doesn't hurt the libido or confidence any either =P
