Endless Realms bestiary - Giant Rat
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Good ol' standard giant rat. The idea behind this guy (other than being standard low-level fantasy fare) was a big, mutated rat subspecies that evolved in the harshest of conditions, selecting for only the biggest and toughest specimens, and rendering them immune to regular diseases and poisons. This, of course, makes them pretty vile carriers, and generally detested wherever they go - the harsh selection pressures against them, however, only makes them sneakier and stronger in the end!

Just like rats..
I remember we had some in our trailer before, at or old place. I came up with all sorts of methods to kill um! Squish, stab, chop, shoot, crush, slam, stomp.. I even caught one in a candle and closed the lid and shook it real hard and killed one way..
But they were small..
Now if they were man sized rats I'd definitely go get a http://www.furaffinity.net/view/155...../#cid:91973740 for backup! Female too! Get to cracking them thighs thunder woman!

I might be a really weird guy, but I can't help but adore anything that takes the form of a rat. I always see giant rats in games, and then I imagine real rats, with their adorable sad faces, their long legs and cool little tails, and then I end up having a hard time wanting to fight rats in game, no matter how ugly they are.
And yet, I still welcome the big ugly rat guys. Skeevers, Raticate, the giant rats from Blue Dragon, those ominous green rats from Might & Magic 5, I just plain have a soft spot for rats. Is that wrong?
