Sekhmet is another character from the same ST:TNG-style universe as Mary and Ivan. Only with a bit of a twist, as Sekhmet is actually Sekhmet, the Egyptian Goddess of War. She keeps it a secret from the rest of the crew. By the way, she can be a very nasty character when she wants to be. Think a female Worf.

Alright, the general concept is this: In Star Trek episodes, especially the more recent ones, if Security did their job well, many episodes would end in the first few minutes as security stunned, killed, or incarcerated the antagonists- So the writers tended to treat Worf as a speed bump- whenever anyone needed to kidnap the captain, take control of the ship, whatever, Worf would take out a token mook before being taken out himself (or bypassed), or sometimes he'd not even get that, firing and missing all his shot!
This general ineffectiveness of security forces in fiction, especially when implied to be highly skilled is referred to as "The Word Effect"
The exception being, of course, the Worf-Centric episodes, where he was given full reign to be a complete badass. However, almost all the Worf-Centric episodes featured other Klingons as antagonists, leading to the joke that Worf can only beat up other Klingons.
