Merry Christmas guys!

In between working pretty much non stop on Commissions I've taken a bit of a break to make a Make Your Own Reindeer art file.

If you are able to donate for use of this, please donate to:

It's honestly the trust system, if you can afford it, please donate, if you honestly can't I don't want to say you can't participate.

Funds go towards my family for the holiday season, so every little bit helps.

Please read the rules!
DO NOT USE THIS FOR ADOPTABLES, SELLING, OR SAYING YOU'VE MADE THIS.

You MAY:

-Use this to make gifts for others, for yourself, for icons.
- ALWAYS link back to this if you upload it, or use it as an icon.
- You can change the line art to fit your personal characters if you're artistically inclined.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE SUBMISSION.

Includes a preset/predone reindeer for the artistically challenged. All you have to do is ignore the Lineart folder and pay attention to the flats layers only. Shades are already completed for you. Just select the flats layer (Example: Fur) and select Hue/Saturation or CTRL + U and you'll be able to slide your way to the colours you want.

The shades are how I shade normally, so if you wondered how I do my basic cellshading, this is a chance to figure it out! =)

How do I get rid of the reins?
It won't let me just not have a rein?
I am confused on how to change things.

You'll have to recolour the image if you want the reins to go away. Theres a secondary folder in the file called Line Art, you can select what you want your deer to look like in there, and erase the excess lines until it looks exactly how you'd like it to, then flatten those lines and colour. =)

Boo. If you try the PSD one, you can open that in SAI as well. =) I had someone else have issues with the SAI download file. :( Thought it fixed, but I'm not sure how else to sort that. Already uploaded it a few times.

What tool do you use to erase/add & edit on the layers that dictate where the color is placed? ie shades, highlights, etc

here's a wip, change dsome line art, but not done yet, threw on some color real quick to show what i mean.

Gotta change the layer so that the color runs through where the bit and such would be as well as around the eyes

Oooh, if you're using the layers I provided, the layers are locked. If you're in SAI select "Preserve Opacity" and it should unlock it so you can edit that layer.

hmmm im actually using the psd in gimp, some layers i've made myself others ive duplicated and then altered.
ill have to search for the gimp equiv of preserve opacity >.<

btw did you ever have a bell color layer?

Nope, I never coloured the bells. The premade reindeer was the only bit coloured, all of the added accessories weren't. :<

I've never tried Photoshop Elements. :( It definitely works in the Photoshop Creative Suite series and SAI.

There wasn't one made. The preset version of the reindeer is the only version with shades. Everything else would have to be done manually. :(

Credits are always given, and I even copy/paste your info as quote to make sure everyone follows the rules even if you delete this one.
