There comes a time...
...you just want to find someone there.
This is not the first time Volcan has awoken to find himself holding his pillow like he would a special someone, finding it held against his body instead of his head resting upon it. He's no naive fool; he knows what this means; it's his subconscious mind, telling him through his actions, that he is feeling the need to be with someone; semi-immortal elemental or not, the phoenix hero of Unity Falls has a heart... and hearts desire the nurturing of another to feel whole. Many of his friends have found this; Vinge with Yurui, Korban with Tsume, even Buniq has found someone in Kieran. If the three most reclusive people he knows can find love, surely he can too, can he not?
But everytime this thought occurs in his mind, many questions race to the front to nearly plunge him into confusion. Is he ready? Is there someone he wants to be with? Will being with him put their life in danger? Will he be able to protect them? Will they be able to protect themselves if he is not around, or will his enemies use his feelings for them to torment him?
Does he have the right to bring someone into his life, when it may very well put them in the crossfire of his struggle to defeat The Overlords, or defend his home?
As much as it pains him, Volcan continues to suppress his need; he knows happiness like that doesn't always come to people like him... something he accepts reluctantly.

This is not vent art; I am not a lonely bird XD
This is not an announcement to say Volcan is looking for someone; this is just something I really wanted to do.
Ugh... it's been so long since I drew I forgot how lousy I am at it. I can do well enough to get the message across but I always manage to fuck up a lot; his legs are too short, and only one of his wings are visible. On paper it always looks fine but once scaled onto an uploaded image I can spot flaws aplenty. Still, this one is particularly touching so, I won't throw it in scraps yet... but when I can afford to commission someone I totally want to get this redone by someone who actually CAN draw :l.
Well, lemme know what you think; if not of the image, of the feelings it gives.

The struggles of a hero (or vigilante in this case) are ones of sacrifice and solitude, their duty to save those in need outweighing inner desires. Though such loneliness can pierce even the hearts of the valiant and the immortal.
Hey man, you can draw leagues above what I can, at least your limbs are proportionate (o_O Dear Cheezus, you have not seen my monstrosities). And I can definitely see what you intended to portray with the image. I like what you've done with his eyes, I can't really explain it, but they seem to have this detail about them that I can't help but admire.

And, it's all true to him; bringing someone into his life would be a risk not only to him, but to them as well, and he doesn't want that, no matter how much he wishes he could find someone. I didn't doubt how I did on the emotion, just the overall layout.
