Way back in high school, I started working on a simple fanfic, based in the world created by Fred Perry in his Gold Digger comics. While I adore his characters, his were-creatures always seemed a bit too...human...for my taste. So I thought I'd see what would happen if I introduced a more bestial version. Taking a few queues from my obsession with the game Werewolf The Apocalypse at the time, I began creating my own changing breeds.

Over time, things just kept building. Adding more and more details, backstories, social cultures, religious beliefs. I have pages and pages and pages of notes......yet never was able to get the story itself to flow. I have a few paragraphs, a few scenes, but that's all. It's really.frustrating!

In short, there are six tribes of shapeshifters, gathered into two groups of three...
The tribes of the Moon - Wolf, Rat, Spider
..And the tribes of the Sun - Crow, Bear, Serpent

They are all based in North and South America, and are more akin to native Americans in their beliefs and culture.

At the time of the story, they no longer exist....until one from each tribe are born.

These are the Firstborns. The plot concerns how they come to terms with what they are, discovering suddenly that they aren't human....And why they are being brought back into our world.

But anyways, I could go on and on....So... here is the main character, drawn by my buddy, . At first his name was going to be Jacob, but since a recent, mildly successful, story featured a werewolf named Jacob....(angry mumbling)...I figured I should change it. So, here's Jake....till I think of something better. Also, unlike that 'other' Jacob'......Jake is a total asshole. Very arrogant and prideful. Always trying to.pick a fight. Back in my fanfic, I had him getting into fights with the werewolf couple, even Brittney....whom he very nearly.kills. He may be a prick, but he has all the power to back up his boasting.
