AT LONG LAST
We meet the mother of Artelyn and Arthur!

I don't have much info on her yet, but here she is at last!! THEY HAVE A MOM. HOLY SHIT.

Lady Igraine is a former noble of the Seelie Court. She was raised by her mother, a noble Leanan Sidhe, and for a long time it was unknown who her father was. It wasn't until she was much older that his identity as a lowly demifey came to light, and when it did, they were all three exiled from the Seelie Court. Her mother, desolate over the loss of her standing in the court she loved, disappeared. Her father took Igraine to the Unseelie Court, and made a deal with the ruler of the Court to ensure her safety, and a place for her in the court. In exchange for his services as a spy for the ruler, Igraine was adopted by a very prestigious court noble and given his protection. Igraine quickly became a very popular choice among other nobles seeking to better their social status, but she refused them all. She instead focused on learning about her new home, about the new rules, and on improving her skills so that she would be more than just a ward. Over time, as she became respected for her own power and wisdom, was taken to be a direct adviser to the ruler of the Unseelie Court. This was how, when Cain came to the mound and was made into a pet, she was able to claim him for herself. She fell in love with him, as he treated her as more than just a way to advance his status, but was forced to send him back to the Mortal world after one of her suitors discovered their affair and began trying to kill him. Things went back to how they had previously been, until Cain returned to Ireland. They began meeting in secret, continuing their affair, and eventually she became pregnant with Artelyn and Arthur. This caused a stir among the courts, as she refused to name the father, and her suitors all became very jealous and angry. They began plotting to find out who the father was, and torture him- some wanted to kill him, in spite of the laws that were in place, even if the father were sidhe. Worried for Cain's safety, and that her children could be used against her, once they were born, she gave them to Cain, laid marks on them to hide them from the other sidhe, and sent him away with them, telling him to never return, and never let them come back either.

She now continues her court life as normally as she can, still refusing to name the father of her children, or where the children went. She even refuses to tell the ruler of the Unseelie court. Only her father knows, and knows that the loss of all three of them pains his daughter every day.
