EXCELLENT! And yup! That's what I was hoping for.... helps ME learn how to get better shots myself. (I got one of him at AC07 with the streaming that was good too!)

Really, I need to get a bit better at it, but with this method, it's almost impossible not to get phenomenal shots. Just crank your F-stop way down, use AF to lock onto something in the area, then kick the lens into manual focus so it doesn't try to adjust. Flash should be second-curtain unless you want it to look backwards (which is sometimes a cool effect). Set the exposure time to taste, and shoot. You'll end up with tons like this.

My main lens isn't really wide-angle enough to capture the full picture at sane distances. Fortunately for me, there are periods where the dances are fairly sparsely attended, so I can get shots like  celyddon's latest three submissions by standing mostly across the room.

All shot by hand, no flash... was really experimenting... nut at least I was learning how to get it.
