I'm not saying I'm batman, but I will say that you'll never see us in the same place at the same time. I'm already on some VERY strong medicine but it's only a temporary fix. In February or March, I'll be getting some kind of injection in my knees. If that doesn't help, I'll be looking at knee replacement. How's your kidneys doing?

Well I'm glad to hear that your kidneys are behaving themselves, you can do without a lot of things, kidneys are not one of them. Gotham will be ok, I've got nightwing covering it. Honestly the hardest thing about my knee problem is the depression that tries to creep in with it, but I try to put the pain of my knees aside and enjoy every day as much as I can. Even if I just stayed in bed they would still hurt, so, since they're going to hurt anyway I get and enjoy myself as much as possible.

Your world must be a fascinating place!"

And yes you are right it would be a fascinating place for you but for me your World is much more interessting." While Khaj speak he looks to the great buildings around with shiney eyes.
Diego: "I'm sure our world is very different from yours. There are so many layers to our world, there's what you see here which is peaceful and happy, and then there are the struggles that are fought in secret places daily to maintain that peace. Of course, there are parts of this world which are very violent and chaotic, too. I've got a good place in the mountains where you could show some magic and be safe. No one knows about it except for me, and a few others and I know where they are today so we'll be fine."
Diego: "Really? It sounds like Talia showed you the safe house we share. I'm sure you saw her 'fun' room, it's the one with chains coming down from the ceiling. You may have already seen the safe house but the safe spot of magic is further up in the mountains. Your only the 4th person I've showed it to." Diego then goes up to the wall and opens another hidden panel, where he quickly types in another code which makes a door appear in the wall in front of Khaj and Diego. As Khaj walks in after Diego, he sees over 35 different types of guns, along with a few grenade launchers of various kinds, and many other explosive, and close combat weapons. "What do you think?" Diego grins.
Khaj: "It looks like you planing on a war man" Khaj laugh as he say that, "If this strange looking crossbows or what they are realy are weapons" Khaj near him self to one of the greatest things Diego has here, it looks like some short, wide piece of pipe... (A rocket launcher) he looks back to Diego and ask : "What kind of weapon is this bulky thing? With such a weapon how you manage to stay stealth?" After speaking he begun to weigh that bulky thing.
"Oh that thing? That's not for being stealthy, that's a rocket launcher and it can level a small building." Diego says as Khaj looks over the rocket launcher. "This might be more familiar to you." Diego then shows Khaj a compound bow. "Ask me about any weapons you like Khaj, I'm sure you must have a lot of questions."
Khaj then put that rocket launcher thing back and think for him self: 'Why need the People from this world weapons to distroy whole buildings....' Then he goes to the compound bow Lift it up and Check it with accuracy. "This one looks nice, but in a close Combat it seems like you cant block a sword hit with that..." He says as he put the bow back, Khaj then looks to Diego as he speak again: "I will be honest to you Diego... I have an other reason then only curisosety to learn more about the weapons in your World... I have to do some dirty work to do here soon... and i must to know what awaits me! Also my first question is witch of this weapons will be used most from your Security persons?" As Khaj speak his face turn to serious-minded features.
"Really? I haven't heard about any dirty work going on, I wonder who your contact is?" Diego pauses in thought before he resumes talking. "In any case, in order to properly prepare you for your enemy's tactics and training, I'll first need to know who your going up against. That way I can give you the right tools for your job." Diego finishes as his tail wags slightly in excitement.
Khaj look at Diegos wagging Tail as he start speaking: "Hmmm, i dont know if i should tell you that... you know much peoples in this city and maybe you would try to stop me if i must kill someone you like...." Khaj jumps a bit backwards and take a wide stance then he look directly in Diegos eyes as he continue speaking: "But if you dont like my targed maybe you would be a very good help so i will tell you... My targeds name in this World is Günter Stiglitz, he will arrive in your Town soon and meet a man called Ciro Fox, the reason for this meeting is meaningless for me, but it will be my best chance to kill him and all others in my way will follow him in the grave."
"Stiglitz? I'm not concerned with him, but I want you to promise me that Ciro will not be harmed. As long as Ciro will not be harmed, I'll help you anyway I can." Diego says as his eyes focus in on Khaj, trying to read his reaction. "I can help you in ways you might not imagine Khaj, but Ciro is a dear friend so I have to look out for him."
Khaj change his stance to walk relaxed to Diego as he repid to him with much sincerity in his voice: "Honestly sayd, i cant promise you that now... cause i dont know what Ciro have to do with Stiglitz, but if somebuddy would find that out and the reasons arent necessary for my mission i will promis that nothing will happen to Ciro" as he finally end to speak Khaj t his right Hand on Diegos left shoulder and wait how he will react.
"Stiglitz and Ciro are not friends so it should be easy to keep Ciro safe. If it's just the two of them than it should be easy to get rid of stiglitz, maybe you could poison his drink, or depending on the location, a good sniper rifle may be all you need. Wait a minute, I bet I've got something you can use!" Diego then opens a cabinet and pulls out a titanium-frame longbow. "This can block any sword or knife, and it's still extremely light. Take it as a sign of good faith." Diego smiles as he tosses the bow to Khaj. "Now, what are you looking at for security and location detail."
With elegant movements Khaj catch the bow and start to check it detailed, while he do he continues the entertainment: "To kill something like Stiglitz poison or some kind of how you named it.... Sniper rifle? Would not work i guess... I must face him from eye to eye! The location will be some kind of militarybase outside the town, so it is written in the Contract. And like i sayd evrything who stands in my way then, must die." He make a short break to finish his check on the Bow Diego tossed to him, then he continue: "Nice work, it must be a talented bowyer who make this. Anyway, if you want that Ciro not will be harmed, then you must manage that he go out of the building shortly before i go in, cause i dont know how Stiglitz will react you Know?"
"I'll make sure Ciro stays out of the way, I can also make sure no one disturbs you. "Diego says as he begins to check a few of the weapons over. "I'm assuming your wanting to do this the old way with blades so what I'll do is tranquilize Ciro and move him just before you go in, then you can be as bloody as you want."
Khaj: "Sure thats all i want you to do... Oh one thing you must do for me also!" Khaj move a bit away from Diegos place and take his wide stance again: "would you pleas use some of this weapons of you against me? I would like try to dodge!" As he say so he looks pretty confident.
Khaj turn his head up and consider carefully, then he answer Diegos question "If you dont hit my head or my heart it should not be a problem i guess, i show you why if you manage to hit me, but i can say you, i have managet to dodge lightningbolts more than once and i have learned that the speed of it is more then 3 times the speed of sound. I dont know how fast your weapons are but i hope not faster...."
Diego's jaw drops open before he quickly composes himself. "You have got to show me how that works!" Diego grins as he gathers some weapons and starts moving towards the exit. "We'll see how well you dodge these and we'll go from there." Diego then pauses as they walk out of the basement before a question comes to mind, "Unless you allowed it, I would have never dominated you, why didn't you fight back and use your amazing speed to subdue me?" Diego cautiously asks.
As Diego ask him that question Khaj start to blush again and quickly start to speak: "Its not so that i can use that speed for long movments, for that i use my shadow step and other spells, also it need much consentration and in such situation like we was in its realy hard for me truly sayd..." He drop his voice to a whisper as he continue to speak: "and maybe i like to be the sub in such things..." While he speak he slowly follow Diego.
"I understand." Diego starts to blush but quickly catches himself. "If you ever tell her I will literally, truely, kill you. But I actually enjoy it when Winn dominates me." Diego then refocuses his mind as the two step into the backyard, Diego then tells Khaj to stand about 10 meters off and get ready.
"Well, there's no warning before one of these weapons fires. If you hear one of them fire, then you will only have milli-seconds to react." Diego then picks up a 9mm pistol and aims it at khaj's arm. "I'll be aiming at your left arm Khaj, see if you can dodge it." Diego then pulls the trigger.
In the moment Diego moves his finger to pull on some kind of mechanism, like a little lever, loud noise echoing in Khajs ears and a little projectile Khaj barely can see, flys directly with high speed towards his left arm. At the same time Khaj noticed the projectile,without left the ground his right leg moves with inexplicable speed forward, with this movement his whole upperbody automaticly change position, just enough to avoid the projectile in time, but Khaj can feel how it slides along the fur on his left arm. He still looks at the weapon in Diegos hand as he start to speak with a playfull tone: "I see now how your weapons work... It was very close i must say have you see it? And i swear to you i dont even use a Single bit of magic jet" As he finished to speak he grin like a little child.
Diego pauses in deep thought, then chuckles and shakes his head in disbelief. "In this world I'm one of the most skilled assassins alive today, but seeing how you can move I realize that I would not fair well against anyone from your world. This is quite a humbling experience." Diego then aims the pistol at Khaj again. "This weapon can fire as fast as I can pull the trigger and there are some that fire much faster still. Let's how well you dodge multiple projectiles." Diego then rapidly fires a three round bust at Khaj.
Now Khaj has seen how Diegos weapon works his reactions are much faster then before, suddenly he perform a high jumpet stretched backflip with a well timed spin to avoid all three projectiles but the highest aimed, last one make a deep scratch in his left shoulder. As he landing a bit behind his earlier stance in nearly the same pose he fast grab with his right Hand to his wounded left shoulder his eyes still directed to the weapon. "Aaaawww, that fucking hurts man!" He say, as he see that Diego not will fire an other projectile, he inspected the wound for a short Time. Then he continue speaking with a appreciative tone in his voice "You hit me, it looks like its harder to dodge them as aspected... without using magic! Its hard to see the projectiles cause they are so small! Like i promised i show you what i can do about such wounds" Khaj use a gesture to signalises to Diego, he should come a bit closer to watch.
As Khaj see, how Diego looks at him and his wound he show Diego his right Hand as would he show him there is nothing but his hand. Then he close his eyes and start to consentrate much, at the same time he do so a golden shiny light begun to glimmer on his palm. Fast the light build a little shiny sphere who let a buzzing tone out of it self, slowly Khaj moves his right Hand with the sphere to the wounded shoulder. As the sphere reach the wound it goes over Khays shoulder and in a blink of an eye the big cut from before is vanished, only the fresh blood on Khajs fur was left of that injury. "And how it looked for you? Surprised?" He sayd as he start to swing his left arm while he grining.
Diego is speechless for about 5 minutes before he can form a sentence. "That was amazing!!! How do you do that?! I've never seen anything like that in my life!! You just, wow! I'm, I'm blown away! I never thought something like that was possible." Diego goes on and on like a little kid seeing a great magic trick.
Khaj is realy amused as he see Diego reactions in his current mode, 'He realy dont have seen any magic before' Khaj thinking, then he seizes the word again : "That was only a little heal spell nothing big... But not many people are skilled in healmagic anymore! My mother..." He race his head as he continue speaking "had forced me to learn it as i was a cild... If i learned it faster she would be alive and much things would be better... I think! But dont let us think about such bad things now! If you realy want and have much time left i can teach you healmagic... But its not easy to learn and we must go to a place no one will interrupts us! What you say? I have much time till my targed enter this City and with your help i will learn enough about the weapons and tactics in your world to learn you something as payment what you say?"
Diego puts a hand on khaj's shoulder after hearing the sad news about khaj's mother. "I can imagine what your going through, I buried my brother two years ago. It still hurts and I suppose it always will, but we carry on for the sake of our loved ones, right Khaj?" Diego pauses and then gets a wild look in his eyes and turns toward the forest. "There's a very private place about 2.5 km north of here, follow me." Diego then takes off running deep into the forest. There's no path, but Diego runs like a wolf chasing the scent of a wounded animal. He runs and dodges large obstacles with extreme ease and grace.
Khaj first just looking at Diego as he start running like the death try to catch him, then he quickly follow him, first he normally runns behind Diego 'he is realy in good shape!' Khaj thinking still follow Diego with great nimbleness as he suddenly jump with much speed upward to a big branch, with one hand he take the branch and swings with a backflip forward to the next tree, with incredible movement he use an other branch like a launching pad and launch him self further forward 'in the north he say' it goes through Khajs head as he use a shadow step and disappear in a black cloud to bridge over a to big distance to the next useful branche in the near. 'I will wait there'
Diego keeps running enjoying the feeling and the obstacle course that the woods present. He completely forgets about Khaj for a minute until he stops to check on Khaj, who has disappeared and is now perched above him on a branch. "That's odd, I thought he would easily keep up." Diego thinks to himself, wondering where Khaj might be. Diego then thinks to himself, "I know how to make him show himself!" Diego evilly grins. "Here kitty, kitty, kitty! Come out my whittle kitty, where are you?"
As Khaj noticed that Diego has stoped running he stop his movements too and take place on a big branche and eavesdrops Diegos words, 'He called me kitty again' are the last thoughts Khaj had in his mind as he again dives in the shadows to appear right behind Diego who still call at him with this mean nickname. Suddenly a purple pentagram smoulders on Khajs right palm then imidiatly an ancient looking black with some darkred ornaments embellished dagger appears in his hand with skilled moves then he placed the dagger fast to Diegos throat and push Diego a bit with his left hand on Diegos back. "I realy dont like this nickname you know?" He growls to Diego with a determining voice.
"I know, and I apologize, but it was one guaranteed way to make you show yourself." Diego nervously chuckles as he feels Khaj press the knife against his throat. Diego notices that Khaj hasn't relaxed the blade and quickly tries to calm the angry assassin. "Khaj, I'm sorry, it was only a joke! Surely we can settle this in some way that doesn't involve my death!" Diego pleads.
Khaj stop to push on Diegos back and start to crawl it instead. "It seems the little puppy gets a little scared if someone put a dagger on his throat" he teased Diego, then the dagger disappears so fast like it was built. "I am sure we can settle this in a other way" Khaj calm his voice as he speak further "but we have to do some work before, like i say it... it will not be easy for you to learn my healmagic, i will told you why if it is on the time. Are we near that place you would show me?"
"I'm not scared, I just knew that would be the best way to calm you Khaj. It's been my experience that the greatest weapons a warrior can have are patience and a keen mind." Diego tries to be smooth while Khaj is crawling his back. "Knock it off with the crawling! It tickles." Diego says trying not to laugh. "As for the secret training ground it's one more kilometer north. We'll come to the edge of a cliff which we'll have to climb down, once we're at the bottom there will be a cave with a stream coming out of it. Inside that cave is tight, but it quickly opens into a very large area, perfect for secret training." Diego then pauses before he speaks again. "I'm still going to settle with you later, but don't expect me to just roll over and spread my legs, my vanity would never allow such a thing." Diego winks.
Khaj: "We will see if you dont will roll and spread your legs for me" it quickly coms out of him as he stop crawl Siegos back. " One kilometer you say? Then keep going it sounds like the ideal training place." He say and pock at Diegos back to push him to run forward. "I will follow you, you keen minded warrior" he say playfully.
"Alright, let's keep moving." Diego resumes his quick pace and leads the rest of the way to the cliff. "Alright." Diego pauses looking for the way down. "It's here somewhere khaj." Diego says as he looks for a specific marker. "Ah, there it is!" Diego smiles as he points to a low spot on the cliff face. "Down we go." Diego then starts climbing down the cliff face, each paw finding seaming invisible holes with great ease.
'It seems he is a good climber too' Khaj thinking, as he observes Diego while climb down the cliff beside him. "We must go to the ground you say? thats nice i like climbing much, i dont know why but it Feels allways great to me" he say while he Look to Diego still climbing down in the same speed like him.
"I've always enjoyed climbing too, it's one of my favorite exercises." Diego answers Khaj as he gets closer to the bottom. "Once we get to the bottom, we'll have to go in one at a time. I'll go first, and you stay right behind me. And no funny business if I bend over!" Diego teases as he reaches the bottom. "It will be tight at first, but it's very roomy towards the rear, and the stream that runs through it is safe to drink if you get thirsty."
As Khaj reach the bottom Diego show him the cave after Diego has told him about the stream he takes over the conversation. "Nice to know that, i always happy if i am on a world with such nice flora and even drinkable water on such a nice looking place." He then looks into the cave, 'its realy very tight... I hate tight caves...' he thinking, trying to hide his discomfort and look to Diego "Okey cutey go first and start to bend over, dont worry i will try to hold my body back" he teas at Diego.
"Thank you Khaj, I feel so much better after that." Diego says teasingly as he bends over to crawl into the cave. "Once you crawl in, you'll have to stand up and walk sideways for a minute." Diego instructs as he continues walking sideways in front of Khaj. "It's nice once you get back here." Diego calls as he walks to the back of the cave. "And here's the best part, we've got power!" Diego hits a button on the wall and suddenly two overhead lights come on, illuminating the cave, which turns out to be roughly 15 meters wide by 19 meters long and 6 meters tall. "It took me a long time to get power to this cave, but I'm very glad I did." Diego proudly smiles. "Oh, looks like I left some tools in here too." Diego says as he notices a toolbox, saw, power drill, duct tape, and rope in the corner of the room. "So Khaj, how do you like my secret training ground?" Diego inquires.
With big eyes Khaj looks around to check out this realy big room hidden in the rocks. 'It was realy tight there... But this looks awsome!' He thinking as he walk in te middel of the room and turn around till his view crosses Diegos curent place again. "This is Perfect man! I am not sure why you have rope and that tape thing here but anyway we have some practice to do" he say then he suddenly change the tone of his voice in a very serious one to continue "Okey what i now say to you is nothing to take easy with okey? I will learn you to use magic, but it is not allowed to learn somebuddy magic in a technical civilisation like this who no one can use it. It have to do with the balance of worlds you know? That means if you give your knowledge to any others i will have big Problems, cause somebuddy like me will search me and try to kill me! If he dont manage to do it two others will try to do it and so will it go on till i... so you must swear me, not to use it seeable in publics or to learn it to others!" As he finished his speaking again a purple pentagram appears on his right palm and imidiatly a small dagger was build out of nothing, he then take it with a strong grip and cutt in his left palm and stretched it out in Diegos direction.
Diego takes the dagger with a solemn expression and cuts his left palm like Khaj did. "I swear by all that I love and by my sacred honor that I will not show anyone this magic unless I have your blessing." Diego then puts the dagger back in khaj's right hand, and then shakes khaj's left hand with his left hand. "That's the way that we make a promise on this world. Well, there's a few other ways, but this is the most appropriate." Diego gives a warm smile and then says, "alright Khaj, I'm ready when you are!"
Khaj nods and gives a warm smile back to Diego "the first thing we have to do is to show your body how he can fuel him self with magic. And cause you never feel magic before we beginning with this." Quickly the dagger disappears, then Khaj take both hands of Diego and close his eyes "I will fuel your body now, you must say me when i must stop, you will feel like you burns if your body had reach his Limit. If we finished, we will now how much magic you can gater and your body knows then how magic feels. After that i will show you how you can restore magic for your self." As he stop speaking he start to gater magic from this world and send it out his palms directly in Diegos.
Diego simply says "ok" as Khaj starts to feed energy into Diego. As the energy flows into Diego, his body tenses up at first but then relaxes and starts eagerly absorbing everything Khaj can send. Diego can feel chills running up and down his body as his fur stands on end and his whole body tingles. "Khaj, I, I feel like I'm floating." Diego says as his body starts to glow slightly.
As Khaj noticed the slightly glowing on Diegos body he fast take his hands back to him self, stop consentrating and check Diego. "It seems thats it! Not bad i must say, you can store more magic then me not much but a bit is still abit! Now let me say to you, there are many people they can store much more magic then we can! And you cant increase your store, but you can learn to absorb magic fast while you moving and use magic." He make a short brake and then he looks around while he continues speaking "magic is everywhere around you, now your body knows how magic feels you should be able to feel it around you if you consentrate you much. Then the only thing you must do is to take the magic with your willpower. Know try to feel the magic around you and dont worry sometimes it take a bit Time till you feel it take your time."
Diego listens intently to every word Khaj says, trying his best to understand this incredible ability Khaj has shown him. "Everywhere around me. Well, water is supposedly full of energy, let's see what this stream has to offer." Diego then reaches out with his hand to try and absorb energy from the water.
