so far today! Got all the measurements planned out, had to do some repairs on the DTD too.
Stilt blueprints all ready to go! Also wired up some LEDs off camera for the eyes. I will be back on cam tonight to paint the eyes as well!
Jinxis is an OC Houndoom, baseed on a realistic Doberman.
Crits are welcome at this stage! More chest??
Next Livestream will be making stilts for those who are interested!

Here ya go, there's four images there to show you the redlines without the distraction of the image. My best advice is a bigger head to even out the giant legs. As big as you can, though I doubt you'll want it quite as big as the red line.
Bigger head means more strain on you though, I would go with a hollow foam head with it strapped onto the back or even make a rigid harness that sits on your back and has a beam up through the neck to put the weight on your back instead. Definitely bigger chest and rump too! And paws, you don't want it looking like one of those quads where they have no toesies

With the feet I make delicate feet rather than toony ones. In the case of the back padding that is just to do with posture (the suit is being supported by the frame under it, DTD has some warping too unfortunately x.x). I will definitely make the head bigger! I always have a harness and rig for heads though so that is not really a concern for me :3 with the back feet however there isn't actually a pattern for the feet there (I build on shoes so that comes later).
I'll do another redline too, there are some points which I will take from this definitely! The chest is actually what I had before xD it looks less horse on the redlines however!
Thank you very much for taking the time to redline for me!!

like others have said a larger head and deeper chest to bring out the shape more. i would say angle and build up the hind quarter more and you could use more shoulder padding plus add more padding to the elbows to smooth out that angle onto the stilts.
I can give some tips on quadsuit performance and stance if you like? I find the best stance for photos to hide the human shape it to pretend you are a German Shepard showing of at a dog show. so most on your weight is on the stilts then stretch out your back legs so you are more on your toes and keep your back straight not hunched. this will give you the look of a longer torso and not look like you are taking a dump. ^.^;

Thankyou so much for the advice! Taken it all on board! This quad is for another person however I am happy for performance advice! I wear quads myself as well so every bit helps!
I am just uploading a new redline just now, please let me know what you think!
Thankyou so much for the help!

Quad suits are so hard because human torsos are so short! If you haven't already made the stilts, I would highly reccomend making shorter arm stilts and taking on the more extended leg pose. It's less strenuous on the back. Quad suits can be absolute murder on the back.
I tried drawing the padding to be more accurately dog, but the closest I could get has you padding the butt and chest a ton! I mean, you could and it would look good but it would be really hot, lol. I think the best way to make a quad suit is to *not* make arm stilts and instead make a digitigrade stilt/cushion that braces your leg in a nice Z pose. (Think crawling on your hands and knees, but with your whole leg rotated closer to your chest, if that makes sense)

If you wanted to see my shit doodles, they look like this:

And the second one is the extended leg pose I was referring to. It's how most people tend to move when in quad suit to relieve their back, lol.

I will do! I would like to be known as the go to for quads in Scotland in the future! I know Thorne does them down in England too, she has some pretty nice stuff!
For me quads are a lot more interesting! So many different shapes you can transform into! Its intensive to wear them for sure but they look impressive!

I think it gives makes way more incentive to go crazy on padding! I long since gave up on making quadsuits - I have a weak back or something. Just leaning over the computer gives me a backache, lol. Thought up a billion little ideas to make them more comfy, but I never went back to it. Welp, I shall live vicariously through your works! At least until I get over my lazy, haha.
