For my first birthday I got a kitten.
It was a hot day and the first thing I ever did to this kitten was dunk her in my little kiddie pool. But she didn't care. I could do anything with this kitty and she was still my best friend. If I cried, she was there. My mom couldn't even get close to me if this kitty thought she was trying to hurt me.
For 14 years she was my best friend. And 8 days before our 14th birthday (because we celebrated it together), she became my guardian angel.

I named her Tiamet (because I totally knew Babylonian mythology at 1-year-old). She knew her name very well so when we were talking about her and didn't want her to know, we called her Tea. But she was too smart for that too.
