Gah, this is an AWESOME design!I love those colors! The only thing that looks a bit odd to me, is the way the robotic claws seem to sprout directly from the dolphin's flesh.. Looks like it could be painful. Maybe include some extra bit / part for the claws to shrink down / retract inside of?

Sorry if that suggestion sounds really odd. I just love critters with robotic parts, and the idea of a dolphin having wicked claws like that seems kick arse! This could be a boss in a video game that I would never ever be able to beat, haha. ;_; <3

Uh, well, the whole character is an android. This is just a random dolphin-bodied chassis of a far more complicated character. It might make more sense if you look at normal Techno. :P

to tell you the truth I'm so out of practice drawing normal phins that I'm having a hard time keeping their faces consistent, so I cheated and defaulted on what I know best :P

I know they do! My very first "fursona" was a dolphin, and I still consider them my "true animal spirit", as durfy as that sounds

My favorite thing about this design is that if the black band on the tail were less distinct, and he was grey or bluish instead of NEON PURPLE, this could be fairly realistic markings for a dolphin. x.x does that make me a geek?

I do like the neon purple though, don't want to make it sound like I don't XD I have a feeling that even when I'm ninety and even if we haven't talked for like forty years or something I will still associate this shade and mulberry Prismas with little calculators :P

OH ALSO I wanted to say that your toony style is becoming more consistent and 'solid', if that makes sense. This totally looks like a Saturday morning character XD

Honestly, I was working on a "version 4 techno" with an alternate dolphin body, and the color that I had in my head was a bluegrey. I'll have to upload the sketches. Unfortunately like you said, I just.. associate myself with the neon fuchsia too, so much that I feel like I can't stil be "techno" and have a different color. I love the purple, but sometimes I want something a little less garish.... but oh well, I don't think I can ever get away from it, and I don't entirely want to. It's sort of like a physical feature that you don't entirely like, like maybe a beauty mark or freckles or something, that you just sort of grow to associate yourself with, and they don't want to change because it'd change who you are. You know?

Well, if the dolphin chassis is anything like the coonfoxdog chassis, he'll still be bluegrey when he's run down or turned off :P have your cake and eat it too!

Yeah, I totally get it n.n sometimes I actually regret having stuck with natural colors for Farore, or keeping the female version the colors she is, but really, anything else fits about as well as your grandma's knitted wool socks - they look nice and warm but they smell weird and they keep falling down and they itch XD *horrible analogy go!* So alternate versions it is, and I draw them when they seem to fit better... sort of like robophin I guess :P

There are a few things that bother me about it, but it was just a fun doodle so I'm not beating myself up over it... some things like I didn't do a real professional coloring job, I half-assed the shading and didn't fade it out nicely, I started drawing too far over on the page so I had to bend the spine in a weird way, I only used Spanish Orange on the eye instead of doing a fade from yellow to orange, I left out most of the tentacles and overly-cartoonified the claws on the ones I did draw, I made the head a little too long for the body, blah blah blah ramble ramble, haha B) like I said it was practice :3 so lots of stuff wrong lol
