Rules: Female only. No creatures with bodies that are vastly different than what is shown (taurs, nagas, ferals, etc). No wings unless they're tiny. "Catgirls"/"Nekomimi" style characters allowed. Preferably like to keep a similar body type. I can change the breast size and add or remove a little weight, but nothing too extreme this time around. Payment is due within 24 hours of auction close. She's going to be dressed only in lace stockings, lace choker, and pearl accents. She can be drawn with nipples, or without, as shown, for a slightly more modest pinup.
"What's a YCH?":
YCH stands for "Your Character Here". It's a pre-posed sketch that a customer can buy. The sketch is then modified to fit their character and completed as a full drawing. Rather than the customer supplying a pose or theme, the artist chooses it ahead of time. The advantage is that the artist is more likely to be passionate about the pose/theme, and the buyer knows ahead of time what the quality of the sketch will be, leading to both the artist and the buyer being more satisfied with the end result. The winner of this auction will supply a reference sheet and this sketch will be modified to fit their character, included but not limited to: Hair, ears, tail, bodytype, species, etc.

Anti-snipe feature: Bidding is extended by 1 hour after the final bid and each bid thereafter until an hour has passed with no bids. So, if someone bids at 5:59, the auction is extended to 6:59. If someone then bids at 6:02, the auction extends to 7:02, etc.

I would say that I don't feel bad about losing, because I don't have to pay, but then I feel bad that it could have been more money going towards the artist. It's the simple mathematics of someone bidding $100 and winning means more money than a $90 winning bid.
Though, I would not want to bullshit artists by bidding an amount I can't feasibly pay at the time, so that's why I stop bidding past a point I consider to be too much.
That said, auctions aren't guaranteed for any one person, so I guess that's the good thing about commissions, right? Even if I don't win this auction, or any other auction, I could always commission you at some point in the future, right?
Sorry- I was just trying to weigh up and rationalise the "ethics" of auctions, because I still see it as helping you out, that you'll get someone's money in the end, and I'd also like to point out and ask if this has any merit? The fact that I bid and others bid shows we like your art and are interested in you? :)

Auctions are nice because I can judge the current demand for my commissions. If multiple auctions of mine go for high amounts, I need to open more commission slots. If my commission slots fill up too quickly, I need to do more auctions. They balance each other out! It's definitely nice to see the interest, even though there can only be one winner.
