Where most semi precious stones are valued for their color, where diamonds are valued for their hardness and luster, there is only one stone out there that has a myriad of fiery yellow, orange, and red coloration, with an even brighter luster than diamond; Sphalerite. Gem quality specimens of Sphalerite are impossibly rare, yet despite the stone's beauty, it is also amazingly fragile due to its sulfur content. With a Mohs hardness rating of 2-4, it is impractical for most jewelry, save for pendants or superbly crafted rings. This stone ~will~ be getting a video when I can manage the time, as this may qualify as my rarest, and arguably most valuable gemstone.
I will make note here: This stone is indeed for sale, but I personally will not touch it if I am to set it. It is ~that~ difficult to work with, and very difficult to replace. If you want it, take it to a super professional jeweler to get it set into something until I get 10+ years in experience under my belt. :P

There is no real cost to these things. Gem quality stones of it are already intensely hard to find, at least in the desired heated assortment of colors. The trick is... how easily they shatter, crack, chip, or simply disintegrate if improperly set. Not that the Gem Shopping Network is a good place to get an idea of prices (Because omfg those greedy assholes), but I have seen them ask easily 200-1000 per carat, AS A SINGLE STONE. The shit they sold with sphalerite mounted was even more than that, as the trick is, setting it into jewelry without breaking it. :P
This one in particular might fetch me triple digits if I am lucky. Would definitely reach the triple, maybe even quad digits if I were to successfully set it into something nice, but frankly, Im not a gambling fox with random chance, cuz I'd cry for the next 100 years if I ended up breaking it by my own hand.
