Me too, and thank you! I really really enjoy creating creatures and stuff, this is mostly an experiment to see if there is interest at all in some of my random creations. It was just a set of random ones I made that I felt people on FA might be interested in. We shall see!

They're a weird sort of creature.. some are semi-aquatic and others are land-bound. No idea wtf to call them X) I like to see what people come up with, I think it's part of the fun in making random creatures.

That's one of the main things that got me to like him. If no one were to bid on him and such, I'd so bid on him or autobuy that if there was an autobuy. But he looks awesome ^^

I had a really hard time deciding to stick an AB on him or not.. that's the problem. Those tend to scare people off, and yet not putting one, tends to scare people off too. If they don't go this round, I'll just re-list and stick what I feel is fair for an AB option on there.

This is an experiment for me, I am not experienced with auction stuff so this is me teaching myself how things work. Once I get more comfortable with it, I'll know how better to set these up in future. It's a learning process and I learn best by doing it. ^^

I remember one artist  iggi was selling anthro versions of some of the Monster Hunter 4 creatures with various designs for $15 each and I snagged myself one. If you put the time to do that, it'll really attract a lot of people and make the species more lovable and definitely liked.

Always good to try things out and learn from them. ^.v.^

That's interesting to keep in mind. I have no clue what monster hunter is about though. I confess being out of the loop a bit in a lot of the games folks play ha.

It's one of those Nintendo 3DS games where you go around and hunt down monsters that threaten the planet. I heard it's really good. :3

That.. looks nothing like it. I mean I can see if you associate all boney/rocky ridges or spines then perhaps.. but the two look nothing similar to me. Maybe I'm just weird that way LOL.

Exoskeleton spines n stuff seem a pretty common accent on many creatures people make. I've seen a few for various species, they even do it in pokemon of all things. It just looks cool and I know people have always enjoyed exoskeleton ideas for many many years.

I guess you're right. After pouring almost 400 hours into MH4U, I'm seeing it everywhere.

Comments like these are not compliments. Why do ppl feel the need to make them? They always make artists feel like they are being accused of copying something. Its not cool and happens so often like it is.

No you shouldn't have said "this reminds me of' anything. That's what I'm getting at there's no nice way to tell an artist their stuff looks like something else.

Not all artists are the same. Some artists like when people find unintentional similarities between their work and another. I've talked to several. They like finding out that others share similar interests and ideas as them.

I haven't met any artists like that maybe you should ask first then. Not assume every artist likes it.

If this artist had a serious problem with it, they would have told me. As it stands, they don't seem overtly offended by it. I'm pretty damn sure they don't need you 'defending' them.
On a side note, I actually like your art. Now please stop being so aggressive.

First, most defiantly was not being aggressive, If i was being aggressive there would be a lot more sarcasm and and swearing involved. I'm just being forward and to the point because i'm tired of explaining this to every person that does this and upsets my friends.

secondly, I'm here because it did offend and upset my friend, but he is trying to be more 'nice' about it because he has a harder time being firm or forward on things like this, I however do not care to do that anymore. If some one is going to act entitled then I do not care for their attitude, specially not around one of the very few people I have left that mean the world to me.

There for if you like my art or not does not phase me none. I'm just telling you that this was offensive, it upset some one I care about and a couple others, and you should be more careful about it because some ARE sensitive to it. specially those that are in a rough transition trying to find a comfortable place in their work and could use more positive feedback.

I have dealt with stupid comments for years, I personally do not care anymore. I'm tired, worn thin by inconsiderate people, Normally I don't say anything but because I had my best friend expressing his upset to me, I decided to come forth and say something.

I'm not angry, I am not instigating a fight, I'm telling you what I know from experience and only asking you to be more considerate that one persons ok's might greatly offend some one else, and not everyone is going to share the same opinion. you could do a little more to be respectful by simply asking if its ok first and take a little more time out of your day to actually know some one a little better without making assumptions. If that's too much effort and not worth it to you, then you just shouldn't say anything at all.

The world would be a better place if people were just a little more considerate to others. Even to agree to disagree. which you are more than entitled to in this case, I will not be offended nor will I care. I will not be angry at you or continue to cause drama by accusing you of being a bad person, all I ask for is a bit more understanding rather than assumptions.

The only similarity they have is four legs, a head and a tail to me. They are totally not similar in any fashion to me even in proportions. These that I drew are postured in a manner to display their features. The rear hip is level or higher then the hip and their heads stay low to the ground almost always.

The comparisons are taken as offensive because 90% of the time they are done to insinuate unoriginality or blatant theft of ideas or concepts. Myself personally.. I find it rude... and depressing.

I understand that the human mind makes comparisons to things or 'clicks' with things that seem similar as a means of understanding.. but for some reason, it doesn't feel nice to receive it when you spend time making something and figure folks might get enjoyment of it.. it makes it feel devalued... if it makes sense?

There's literally no intelligence to be found in the statement "it looks like ____" either. So there's that.

There are polite ways to draw comparisons. The way these comparisons were made? They do diminish the work as a whole. Which IS inappropriate.
