To name/mention an user you put :icon"username": (without quoting marks, and replacing the "username" with an actual username itself, an example is:

Or if you dont want the name at the side, you put the "icon" after the username, like :"username"icon:

And as for the profile pictures, you need to shrink down the actual picture you want for FA to 100x100, go to My FA> Account Management> Upload/change avatar and then you just upload your picture, click on it after it uploads (its gonna have a "Remove" option underneath it) wait for FA to cache it, and you're good to go ^^
