Early in the morning, right as the sun began peeking its head over the horizon, Jennifer cracked open her own eyes. She lay on her (steadily growing) side of the bed, still wishing she could sleep on her back again. She dimly remembered the date from her pregnancy calendar and sighed exasperatedly. It was the day, the beginning of the end. The first day of the dreaded Third Trimester.
What the third trimester brought to Jennifer was a level of certainty. She certainly felt sore all over her body and could barely stand up to walk sometimes. She certainly was going to have stretch marks underneath her fur. She certainly was going to carry larger than normal with all the weight she'd put on in the past couple months. And more than anything else, Jennifer was constantly made very, very certain that she was carrying twin pups.
After their debut in the clothing store, the twins found it necessary to make themselves known as often as they could. It was their favorite pastime to stretch and work out their new and developing muscles while causing a good deal of distress for their mother. It was this reason Jennifer went to bed at nine or ten most nights, because she was inevitability going to be woken up by a flurry of morning aerobics at the crack of dawn. Frequent naps tended to keep her stable during the day, but it didn't mean she felt any better waking up alongside her active tummy.
Jennifer groaned deep in her neck as she groped behind her for Logan, but instead found his side empty. The more she woke up, the more her overly sensitive nose could smell the coffee and meager breakfast he was making himself. Even while being woken up so rudely, Jennifer was rarely ever up before Logan went into work. Her first thought was to get up and take advantage of the good luck, but the motivation failed her as she remembered the effort it took to heft her growing belly off the bed.
But as the lied in bed, splayed out on her side, she felt a very different sensation. It was all too familiar, but out of place in the dreaded early morning. Jennifer's heart rate quickened as she felt one of the squirming twins settle down on some particularly 'sensitive' nerve endings of hers right in her lower belly. She slid her legs between the sheets and sighed again, this time in deep comfort and relaxation. She raised her head to glance at the bedside clock. Logan had a habit of being very punctual to work. Jennifer had less than an hour to 'convince' him to stay.
Newly motivated to stand, Jennifer took a deep breath and hefted herself up to a sitting position. It took a lot of help from gravity for her to roll over to the edge of the mattress and dangle her legs off. She was winded, but it was likely more from her squished lungs than from effort. She hadn't truly felt 'pregnant' until the babies had first moved. Now, she didn't feel anything but 'pregnant.' It was either the most wonderful bad feeling or the worst wonderful feeling she'd ever had.
She ran a finger down the furred, stretched swell of her belly, shivering slightly as it crossed the sensitive region around her navel, which had finally started to 'pop' out into the little button trademark of every late pregnancy. Logan thought it was adorable and Jennifer was inclined to agree, within reason. At least nobody would mistake her for fat anymore.
The twins squirmed at the sensation as Jennifer stood, wobbling uneasily back and forth for a minute to keep her balance. The feeling of the twins moving inside of her was an incredible, amazing feeling that she was very quickly becoming tired of. She relished every moment she felt a little paw press out against her skin or one of them turn over for comfort, but also wished they weren't so eager to do so all the time. She crossed the room on her sore, bare feet, and wearing not much more than her underwear. Jennifer hadn't started leaking yet, but had bought the maternity bras early. As weird as it was, she was looking forward to that, if out of nothing but curiosity.
As she crossed around the bed, Jennifer caught sight of her profile in mirror over the dresser and stopped. It was as bizarre as ever to see what she recognized as her body, but with an extra round shape stuck out in the front. She wasn't full basketball-sized yet, but would get there in time. Jennifer ran a hand through her long hair and cradled her other arm under her belly, which was finally large enough to have an 'under.' Perhaps it was the extra stimulation the twin were prodding, or maybe it was the extra sleekness of her fur, or her slowly growing cup size, but Jennifer felt sexy, in a way she never had before, nor had she expected to. Jennifer swiveled an ear to the sound of the beeping coffee pot and Logan shuffling through the cabinets for a mug. She was out the bedroom door in seconds.
Logan sat on a wooden stool over the kitchen counter, flipping through folders with his company's logo stamped on the front. He blew on his black coffee before taking periodic sips, only looking away for a few seconds to stir a packet of sugar into the cup. A newspaper was folded up next to his plate of toast. He was trying to create a facade of adulthood by reading the paper with his coffee, but Jennifer knew that the only thing Logan cared about were the comics on the back page.
“Good morning, sunshine,” Jennifer teased, strolling into the kitchen and stretching exaggeratedly, moaning slightly with her straining muscles. She slid a hand across Logan's back, trailing her fingers along his neck. Logan himself didn't notice.
“Morning, baby,” he said. He stood up slightly from the stool enough to kiss her before bending down to her stomach. “Good morning bab-ies,” he said, before planting two pecks to either side of Jennifer's belly button, making her squirm and blush. But instead of continuing his affections, Logan turned back to his folders and flipped to a seemingly random page in the middle to began scanning graphs she had no idea how to read.
“What are you up to today?” Jennifer asked, setting her hands on Logan's shoulders to grab his attention again. She leaned forward slightly to let her belly brush against his upper back. Normally, he loved when she did that. But as Logan continued to flip through graphs and printouts of code, it became obvious he hadn't even noticed.
“Ugh, there was some big data dump yesterday on one of the servers. I was able to recover most of everything, but I'm still trying to figure out what happened.” He sipped his cup of coffee while still pouring over a page of changelogs.
“Well,” Jennifer said seductively, scratching behind Logan's ear, “that doesn't sound very urgent, at least.”
“I guess not, but I still want to go in a little early to work all this out. No telling what the problem could be until I get there.”
“C'mon, puppy,” Jennifer said, using an older, affectionate nickname from college. “You can spare a few minutes, can't you?” She reached around the chair and slipped the folder from his grasp. Instead of protesting, Logan simply let it go to pick up another with his freed hands.
“I sort of already did with breakfast,” Logan said. “I still want to make a good impression with everyone, so I like to go in as early as I can.” With a long gulp, he finished his cooled cup of coffee and stood to go set it in the sink. On the way, he gave Jennifer's belly an affectionate, but noncommittal pat as he passed her. This only seemed to frustrate her further.
“But you haven't been off work in so long, baby,” she said, coming up behind him and nuzzling against his back while her belly and breasts pressed against him. “I feel like I barely see you anymore. I wish we could just...take a day for us, y'know?”
“I've got a couple free days this weekend. We can do something then, okay? Don't worry about it.” Slipping out of her grasp, he gave her a smooch on the cheek while scooping up the papers and folders on his desk. “I'm not all that hungry anyway. You can have the toast, the twins probably need it more than I do.” He smiled, giving an awkward wave, before saying “See you tonight!” and striding off down the hall.
Jennifer almost growled, the churning pups inside her making her feel more and more needy by the second. With speed she wasn't sure she still possessed, Jennifer strode down the hall after her husband. Before he could turn the knob of the front door, he turned in response to the footsteps, raising a confused eyebrow. In a powerful motion, Jennifer pulled him away from the door by his shoulder, letting the papers scatter to the floor, and heavily pinned Logan to the wall with her sizable belly. With one free hand, she deftly stepped out of her panties, balled them up, and stuffed them into Logan's pocket.
“Now...” Jennifer growled with a sultry grin, “Why are you leaving so soon?”
Logan's eyes widened, his ears folded back. He stammered and stuttered, likely blushing heavily under his fur. His gaze traveled slowly down Jennifer's body, lingering on the rounded stomach holding him in place. He jumped, releasing a small 'yipe' sound, in response to one of the twins poking him from inside Jennifer.
“I-I w...wa....I uh...wor- gotta...” He gulped, but smiled broadly as his tail started thumping against the wall. “Heh, uh, N-no reason.”
“That's what I like to hear,” Jennifer said. Traveling her hand under her belly, she undid Logan's belt with shocking ease while pulling him closer with the other arm around his head. She licked him lightly against the nose. “I think you'll have to settle with being a bit late today, I think. You've got some business to take care of here, first.”
Logan, silently elated, nodded in response and could only happily skip along as Jennifer dragged him back into the bedroom by his shirt collar.
