Louis and the others in Princess and the Frog is own by Disney.
This was a pretty strange situation Louis had put himself in.
All because he wanted to find a short cut to become human he had tried using Mama Odie's staff in order to change himself. When she found out what he was trying to do she instead sent a curse on him that made him constantly gain weight! It had not even been a day and he had already gain over 100 pounds! If he didn't find a way to break this spell soon it wouldn't take long for him to become completely immobile!
Luckily for him he was told by Tiana and Naveen that they were planning to throw a quick wedding in the Swamp, and that Mama Odie was going to act as the one marry them. "That's prefect! Then I can go ask her to break this spell she put on me." Louis thought, now having two good reasons to be on the frog's wedding.
At the wedding ceremony when Tiana and Naveen was declared "Frog and Wife" by Mama Odie, something really amazing happen! After they kissed each other a bright light was seen, and when it was gone the two frogs had returned to being humans! "Oh my god!" Tiana said excited! "I can't believe this! How did it happen?" Naveen asked, and Mama Odie was had a very interesting answer to give. Despite being a frog Naveen was still in the title as a "Prince", and by having Tiana become his wife she herself had become the princess needed to kiss the frog and break the curse!
As Tiana and Naveen was celebrating the fact that they could return to their friends and families again, Louis leaned over to Mama Odie to ask "So...since you already helped those two with their curse, I thought that maybe you could also help me getting rid of mine..." but he got cut off by the blind old woman, who said "I know what you are going to say, and the answer is No. I put "this" on you, to teach you a lesson." She said while poking into his super flabby middle with her staff. "And the only way for you to break it is when you realise that you can achieve your life's dreams..." Louis was just about to add something when Mama Odie finished "...without turning into a human!" "But how am I suppose to do that?!" Louis asked, sounding worried for real this time. "Believe me, you will find the answer in certain time." She told him, before going off to congratulate the now once again human couple.
"Easy for her to say since she doesn't add any weight as time passes." Louis thought as he held up his saggy sack of fat with his hands, before dropping it down once again. "But she did seem to know what she was talking about, so i just will have to trust her." He thought as he watched her talking with Tiana and Naveen, before looking back at his stomach that was giving a slight gurgling sound. "I just hope it doesn't take all day!"
Almost like he had been getting his prays heard Naveen and Tiana walked up to him, just to tell him that once they got back home to the city they where going to throw a surprise wedding the very same day! And after that was done they where planning on buying that old place that Tiana had plans into turning to her own restaurant, where she told Louis that he was going to get a chance to perform his music act for the customers like a real jazz artist. And all of this was planned to be made during the course of about one day! "Good! That means I will only gain about 200 more pounds before I get to make my big dream true!" Louis thought in both a ironic way, and a slightly concerned and worried way.
Tiana and Naveen had planned out to do a lot of things when they came back. After they where reunited with their families the two lovers had went to the bank in order to buy the closed down place that Tiana was planning to turn into her dream restaurant. After that was done they hired some builders, and after Tiana had been given them the blueprints to work on, both she and Naveen went to prepare their second wedding ceremony.
So what was Louis doing during all of this? He had become asked by Naveen himself to be his Best Man on the wedding, and before he could be present there he had to do one thing first. Get himself a nice costume to wear. Naveen wanted his friend to look really "fancy" at the wedding so he sent Louis to be measure by one of the best tailors in the city.
Louis wasn't completely sure how this would end (Since last time he faced human he did scare a lot of them.), but for this thing he had Mama Odie next to him to act as the voice for Louis so that things wouldn't end so badly this time.
As he entered the cloth-shop the big gator had to try hard to fit through the small door at the entrance. Once inside they saw that there was no other costumers there. (They had chosen to get there just when they open for the day so that they wouldn't scare others that wanted to buy stuff.) The guy that had been hired to help Louis looked a bit nervous as he walked up to him, but since he had been promised by so many that Louis was harmless he held his fears inside of him and introduced himself to the company. (It wasn't even that Louis looked "Scary" to him. He just looked "Big" very, very big.)
"So you are the "friend" to the two lucky souls that will get married?" He asked (in his best manner to contain his professionalism.), and Louis responded with a light nod. (It was light since he could barley bend his head down, with all his extra chins blocking it.)"And what exactly is it that he is looking for?" The man then asked Mama Odie, who responded "Just a nice shirt and Tuxedo jacket. I don't think you will find pants that would be able to fit him! Heh, Heh." She said jokingly, and nudged an elbow into the belly fat of Louis. "Okay. If you just stand over here and do as I say, I will take your measures." The man said, and Louis made his way over to where the man had pointed. (Making the floor they where standing on shake slightly.)
5 hours had passed between the wedding in the swamp and Louis entering the cloth-shop, and the plump reptile had now got another 60 pounds to add on his mass. (Making it 160 pounds extra in total.) And by this point every single new pound he gains seemed to be enough to make his middle expand a little. This became very clear when he was having the tape measure around his 2 and 1/2 feet thick and 4 feet wide belly, and every time he gained another pound it would make him bloat out another inch, making the tape sit tight around him. Every time that happen the tailor had to re-measure Louis, and since that took more then 5 minutes to do that Louis would have enough time to gain another pound, that in return lead to another inch, that in return lead to another re-measuring and so on, and so on.
What was really the kicker for Louis was that unlike last time this happen he was aware of what was going on, but he couldn't tell the tailor his problem! (He couldn't either just suck in his gut like last time, since he was so big now that doing that would not change his shape one bit.)
This went on for about 50 minutes (Having Louis gain about 10 more pounds) before a sudden thought hit him. He could just tell Mama Odie his problem and have her tell the tailor! He felt so dumb for not thinking of that earlier that he punches his own gut in anger, sending a shockwave that knocked the tailor onto the ground,
Feeling very sorry for his behaviour Louis quickly turned to Mama Odie and said "Mama Odie! You need to tell this man that he can't get any "correct" measures from me!" to her. It took a few seconds for the old lady to understand what he meant, but when she did she had a good little laugh over it before helping the tailor up and saying to him, "You know, when it comes to my friend here my best bet is that you take a quick measure on his midsection, and then make his cloths in about 3-4 sizes larger." This made the man slightly confused as he asked "3-4 sizes?! But wouldn't that be way to big even for someone like him?" to which Mama Odie calmly replied "Oh, believe me. I'm sure he will "grow" into those cloths within no time."
Deciding to take the elderly blind woman's advice the tailor gave Louis once more a quick measuring of his round body, (And this time really being quick so he wouldn't risk getting another flying trip by the belly fat.) before then going back and working on the tuxedo top that Louis was going to have.
He took about 30 minutes to be done, and when he returned he had the finished product in his hand and asked Louis to try wear it. Seeing a big fat swamp creature put on human cloths was a very strange sight, and even Louis himself felt pretty weird wearing it. But after he had pulled his arms into his sleeves, buttoned in his shirt, and fixed on his tie Louis did look very neat now. But as he was looking at himself in the mirror the tailor leaned over to Mama Odie and said "I don't get this. I made that costume to be about 4 sizes to big (just like you said) and now seeing him wear it, it looks more to be only 3 sizes to big. (I have an eye for that kind of details.) How is that possible that he outgrown one costume size in such short time?" After hearing all that Mama Odie simply replied "Since he's an alligator he has a body that must be working in a "different" way.", before handing the tailor the money that was his payment and leaving the store with Louis. (Who now was leaving this place weighing 176 more pounds then when all of this started.)
It was a good thing that they bought that suit in a few extra large sizes, cause even thought the wedding itself only was a couple of hours away Louis had already started to fill it up greatly! As he entered the church he quickly became the centre of attention, as it was pretty uncommon to see a over 1,000 pound heavy alligator, walking on two legs, dressed in a suit, on a wedding. Louis didn't really enjoy all of the looks he got, but thankfully most of them seemed to be "amazement" over seeing the sheer size of him. "At least they don't seem to be scared of me." He thought.
But as soon as the ceremony was starting up everyone decided to continue on as usual, and all sat in different seats in the many rows. Louis on the other hand decided to reaming standing. (Mostly cause it would be IMPOSSIBLE for him to fit inside the tight seats!) He just waited next to the door for the lucky two to make their entrance.
First Naveen entered and made his way through the hall and towards the altar. After him came Tiana, and was of tradition the Best Man had to lead the bride towards her upcoming husband. There was once again a lot of looks as Louis now was the centre of attention (But intentional this time), and some people (Like Tiana's Mom) got a little worried seeing this young girl being lead by this huge beast. Tiana quickly calmed her mother saying that nothing dangerous was going to happen, and Louis lead her to the altar without any mishaps.
Once both Bride and Groom was present the wedding ceremony could now take place. As this was going on Louis still stood next to the bride couple as he had one more duty to make. He had also got the responsibility to hand over the rings at the end. It didn't sound like a hard job to do since all he needed to was to reach inside the pocket of his jacket and hand them over. But things where dragging on (as they often do at weddings) and Louis could feel how his previously loose cloths where now starting to feel really tight! His shirt had no problems taking a little stretching, but the same could not be said about his tux jacket.
The priest first asked Naveen if he would take Tiana as her bride, and after he said Yes he asked Tiana if she would take Naveen as her groom. Just when she was about to ask a loud "POP!" could be heard, and she could feel a small projectile flew right past her head. Looking at where it flew they could see that it had leaved a mark in the church wall, and looking at what it was they saw that it was a small button. Looking behind them they could see that the button had come (as expected) from Louis, who had outgrown his tuxedo jacket so much that it made one of the buttons to fly off him. Having all the eyes looking at him (And his gut, that had expanded out about 1 feet after getting free from the restraining cloths.) Louis could do nothing but to give an expression that just said "Sorry", and as they continued the ceremony again Louis took and unbuttoned the rest of his jacket. (To make sure that it wouldn't be any more "accidents" from him.)
After the wedding there was dinner and cake, and after that the lucky bride had a brand new restaurant to open. Many of the wedding guests had also been invited to be on premier night of the new place, but also several high classed citizens of town that had paid a good amount to get a reservation.
Louis was glad that he could finally could take of both his tux jacket and shirt (That also now was starting to feel tight against his scaly skin.), but he was even more happy over what Tiana had promised him. That on the opening night of her restaurant he was going to be the main entertainment for the dinners! There was going to be a small orchestra also on stage, but Louis was still going to be man (or gator) in focus. "At least I can get to perform naked for this." Louis thought, meaning that he wouldn't have to worry about outgrowing more cloths.
After the grand opening had started things had been going very smoothly. Everyone had gotten seated. They loved the decorations of the place, and they loved the food they where being served. The only thing missing to make the evening complete was the entertainment, and Tiana was going to go and fix get just that.
Behind the stage Louis was getting really nervous for his big (In more then one way) premier. He was all sweaty and had a little hard time breathing cause of the stress he felt. (And also because of the extra weight of course.) As he was checking so his trumpet was working correctly Tiana walked up to him and asked if he was ready. "As ready as I will ever be." Louis answered. (Tiana and Naveen still had the ability to talk with him thanks to the magic.) "Okay big guy. I just hope you suddenly feel the need for a nine course meal during your performance." Tiana said and patted Louis's belly, to wish Louis gave a slight chuckle (Making his belly wobble greatly.) and said "To be honest I haven't felt any need to eat ever since meeting Mama Odie." "Must be a side effect of that curse she gave me." He then thought to himself.
"Okay. If you feel ready I will introduce you now." Tiana said, and after Louis gave her a confident nod she went of to do just that. "Alright Louis. It's now or never." He said to himself, before walking over to his place on the stage.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! May I have your attention please." Tiana asked, and got just that from everyone in the dinning room. "As you know I wanted to build this place as a way to fulfil my dear father's dream that he sadly didn't get to see himself in his lifetime." Tiana then had a small pause to collect herself before continuing. "But I had also another dream with it, and that was to give all kinds of people a chance to get a work here. Being if it was as serving staff, cooks, or entertainers. And this last case couldn't be more true then in the case right here where the one going to perform here on stage is an alligator from the swamps that has a very good talent for playing the trumpet." At this point some of the guest started to look unsure if this was a serious thing, or if she was joking with them. "Some of you might have seen him earlier on my and Naveen's wedding, but for all of you others I'll give you Louis!"
As she said his name she went of the stage and the curtains came up, revealing the very, very big artist that was Louis. The reaction in the crowd was mixed as they saw him. Those of the people that had been seeing him earlier in the church was happy to see him and gave him applauds, while people that hadn't heard of him until now just looked shocked and scared over the obese animal standing on the stage.
It was a complete silence on the stage as Louis was suppose to start the first song with a Trumpet solo, but he felt a little stage fright! It wasn't just the fact that he was going to get to perform for real, but also that that by now he had gained over 200 pounds since he got his curse! Previously he had mostly had a big gut, but now it was pretty obvious that his entire bottom half was affected by the weight. His hips, rump, and tail had also put on a lot of that extra fat, giving Louis an even more clear image of him being "Bottom Heavy". (His upper body was also pretty fat, but not nearly as much as his bottom.)
Knowing he couldn't make a bigger fool out of himself now Louis took up his trumpet to his mouth, and started playing. As soon as he let that first tone go he could feel all of his worries and fears leave him instantly. Even the doubt on most of the people in the dinning room seemed to disappear when they heard his music, and adding on the orchestra backing him up it made the music even better!
Something else that Louis felt as he was playing was the tones he took as he played. They where longer! Much more longer then what he had been able to play before. He wasn't sure how that was possible at first, but then he think he knew. It must had to do with his extra weight in some way, and he thought that the enlarged stomach he now had was acting as a way to store a whole lot of extra air for him to use in order to not only blow much longer tones, but also barley needing to catch his breath while performing. He could blow out one tone for 5 minutes and still have air left inside! "This extra weight seemed to have some good uses after all." Louis thought as he continued giving his all for the audience. Once he was done the applauds he got wouldn't stop! And he was needed to return on stage several times in order to plead the crowd.
Back behind stage Louis found that someone was waiting for him, and that someone was Mama Odie. "I heard they liked you out there." she said, and Louis could do nothing else but to brush his chest a little cocky with one arm and say "What can I say? When they get to see a pro like me." This made Mama Odie laugh and say "You are still as bad at acting like I remember you being!" She said.
"Okay, you had your fun with me. What do you want?" Louis asked, and the old lady replied "What happen out there on stage?"
Confused at first Louis simply said "I play my trumpet, and they all loved it?".
"Why did they love it?" She asked, and Louis replied "Cause...they liked my performance?"
"And what about the performance did they like?" She asked, and Louis replied "Because it was nothing weird, just me..." before he stopped when he know what he was going to say next. "Yes?" Mama Odie asked, wanting to hear Louis finish himself. "...Being myself."
"So, do you understand it now?" Mama Odie asked.
"Yes! Yes I do! It was actually possible for me to make a performance, on stage, as myself, without having anyone in the audience being scared of me!" Louis said, almost starting to cry over how happy he was.
"And since you now have learned your lesson I shall do this to you." Mama Odie said and waved with her magic stick at Louis.
There was a quick "POFF!" happening, and when Louis could see past the small smoke cloud that she had created he could see that he was still super huge, but he felt a little different inside. "I don't feel that weird growing feeling inside of me anymore!" Louis said surprised, and Mama Odie explained that she taken away the curse so that he wouldn't continue gaining any more weight every 5 minutes.
"I can also make you thin, or rather as "thin" as you where when you tried (cough) stealing from me." mama Odie said, making Louis blush a little of how much problem that stupid thing had out him through.
"Would you want me to do that?" Mama Odie asked, and was about to zap him again when the gator said "No."
"Wait, are you sure about that?" Mama Odie asked confused, totally expecting the gator to say Yes to that.
"Yes, I am sure. I want to keep all this weight as it helps me become a much better Trumpet player then I have ever been before! I would still like to keep the ability to not having to eat anything, as with my size that could make it very hard for my stomach to get satisfied. Plus maybe making my leg muscles a little bit stronger wouldn't hurt either." Louis explained to Mama Odie, who in return got very taken by his well thought out reasoning's behind his decision.
"I have to say that takes a lot of guts for you to say that." She said , to which Louis quickly replied "Something I clearly have! Ha, Ha." "Yes, that's true." Mama Odie said, liking how he still had his sense of humour in him.
"You know what? I will let you get your wishes come true this time." Mama Odie said and gave Louis another Magic blast, that this time took away his hunger and gave him stronger legs. "I have to say that I am very proud of you. You have learn so much more then I thought you would ever do." She said, and Louis got so happy that he decided to give her a surprise Gator hug.
He lifted her up with no difficulties, and felt so happy over his new self. At first he had feared and dreaded these changes he was going through, but looking at it now he knew that he would never want to change one single pound of himself after this.
In this part Louis story ends, and we get to see just how his quest for his dreams goes, and just how much he will gain.
