She'd flutter for a bit, then give up. The 60 year old female Eastern screech owl was cranky because it wasn't her house. The handler would lift her, she's scream, then fly back to her perch. He moved the perch closer to the display table (there were feathers, and other things on display), and she flew to the ground.

Reminds me of a western screech owl I took care of at the wildlife rehabilitate center. One of the only birds that ever liked me (probably because I gave him his daily sacrifice of mice but that's niether here nor there *snicker snicker*). He'd been hit by a car and lost his eye we called him Lefty.
