Auction: Grey and White Yarn Tail!
Hi everyone, today I have something special that I made that I won't ever make again!
This is a hand-tied yarn tail made out of a little over 5 skeins of painstakingly hand-placed yarn.
The start price reflects the very basic amount I'd like to get to cover materials and a tiny fraction of my time.
The fur is handmade from yarn! I made this tail a little over 3 years ago and I really enjoyed it in the time I had it it, but I realize that I just don't wear a tail to events as much as I did in the past. So I find this getting left at home more and more, and it is a tragedy for this wonderful piece of handcraft to not get out and enjoyed.
This type of tail is different from any faux fur tail made from fabric. It has a weight to it, and is ultra flexible, as a result it is VERY waggy and has the most realistic movement that any style of tail short of an actual taxidermy tail can offer. It has a braided "spine" and each fur bundle is knotted and sewn to it. This offers wondrous flexibility.
Here are two quick videos of the movement:

Maintenance is similar to a faux fur tail. It does require combing, because if left ungroomed its looks will not have as much of an impact. If any fibers need re-straightening you can use a hair flat iron to smooth them back to their original sheen.
This was made of two tones of grey made to have a lighter underside and it is tipped in white. The grey yarns carefully selected on this project match fairly and compliment well to the "luxury shag" faux fur.
Currently the loop at the top is a simple D-ring. Please inform me at auction's end if you would like a certain type of belt loop added (elastic, nylon) otherwise it will be delivered as-is.
Shipping on this tail to the USA is $5 via first class mail, it will come shipped in a polybag. If a buyer outside of the USA wins shipping will be calculated after auction's end.
Auction ends Wednesday June 17th at 9PM pacific time! (this is a quick auction that's just a few days!) VERY IMPORTANT: If any last-minute bids are placed, as a courtesy, the auction will be extended 30 minutes after the last bid so do not be shy if you really want a particular item! Final winners will be notified via comment reply to their winning bid.
To bid! Please place your bid by commenting via "Reply To This Post" to the bidding thread. Please use whole dollar amounts!
To outbid another user and for your bid to count YOU MUST select "Reply To This Post" on the prior bid. Please make sure your bid counts by bidding in that fashion! I will remind you if necessary! Occasionally there is simultaneous bidding so just re-load the page to keep track of the highest amount.
Buyer is responsible for paying for the shipping! Shipping costs are not counted as part of your bid. They are in addition to your bid. I prefer to ship to the USA, all item shipping costs listed are to USA unless otherwise specified. If you are a bidder from outside the USA you are still welcome to bid, however please be prepared to pay shipping that may exceed the value of the item, international shipping costs can be unpredictable and tend to increase without notice. :( I WILL be attending When Furballs Strike in WA state and can deliver there if the winner is local!
Payment will be accepted via Paypal in USD! Please pay within 2 days (48 hours) from auction's end. Thank you!

This will be my first tail so I'm not sure which I would need, Nylon or Elastic, so that I could wear it properly. I will need one of the two I'm sure, so if you have any examples of the two options that you can show me. That'd be great. I'll deposit funds first thing tomorrow and will Paypal you once I get home from bill paying and grocery shopping. Should be able to send out the payment at around 7pm - 8pm eastern time.
Oh! I will clarify: When you wear a belt on your pants, do they have a center belt loop on the back or not? Some clothing designs have 1 right in the center, and that means a tail will require 2 belt loops to stay centered. Other folks just put the tail on the belt by itself and do not thread it through their clothing at all (haha me). Elastic is if you have a variety of belts you typically wear. Nylon would be if you only own 1 belt and know its size. Ultimately this is allllllll personal preference of the wearer. I can understand if this is too many options and I can definitely set you up with something and make it easy on you.
That payment stuff all sounds good. Thanks :D

I think elastic sounds more like what I could use. I only have one belt currently but will prolly get others x3 So you can send the tail with a nylon add on, in case I want to use it! Thanks for answering my question, I am SO excited to be getting this tail. I'm such a happy mess right now xD
Whoops, I'm sorry I can't add an "add on" because the loops are gunna be sewn to the D-ring itself. There would not be a way to get them on. That'll be something you'll have to sew on yourself later on if you change your mind. Its literally just little loops I'm adding, You'll see what I mean once it arrives!
I haven't seen the notification for it yet, can I have you doublecheck the spelling? sara[at]matrices.net
