you'd be surprised. once you learn one instrument, the others fall into place pretty quickly, especially since most of the instruments I play are all string based.

heh, I actually really love that type of music. Although I mainly listen to prog rock, I have a soft spot for European folk music. You might want to check out a band called Beirut.... I can recommend some songs if you like.

Well, it took me until well after all the holidays to get to this, but it works just as well for me. It reminds me of the wonderful time I had with my family during the Thanksgiving holiday and all the great food we had.
