Little is known of the Asteran race of dragons. Until recently, they were only a forgotten memory, a mythic legend at best.... But when they came back from the realm that they exiled themselves to, they overwhelmed the combined military force of the world, both physically, and technologically.
There armor is made of an unknown material, but it seems to be highly resistant against the elements, and ballistic weaponry. Reports from the front lines indicate that the holes on either side of their helmets, near where their mouths would be located, are used to shoot their flame, and possibly to breath. It is unknown what the symbol on their shoulder armor means. Rank has been ruled out, as all of their soldiers have been seen with the same symbol. This has made it difficult to distinguish an infantry soldier, from an officer.
The weapon that they commonly use is very... interesting. They seem to shoot a plasma-like substance. Whatever it is, it has proven devastating to our forces, as anything short of the lower part of a limb almost always results in death, whether it be instant, or drawn out. However, the sheer heat from one such blast cauterizes the wounds quite effectively, resulting in little to no hemorrhaging.
Physically, they stand between 7'8" and 8'9", however, this does make them a bigger target. There wings give them a distinct advantage, as they can cover great distances faster, and almost always have the high ground...

Okay, backstory aside, I think this might be my best piece of work yet, The only thing I am really unhappy about is the shading on the ground, and FA resized it (slightly) making it look less clean (if that makes sense) than the actual version...
If you read my story entitled, 'From the Ashes' , this is what the world will be up against.
Anyway... Comments are much appreciated, thanks ^.=.^

I like the pose; it looks natural.
My only complaint is the armor could have used a bit more detail as it looks a little bland, but other than that, I think it's a job well done.
I'm still trying to get the tail thing down, but I'm having a hard time, although it really shouldn't be hard D: (if you look at some of my stuff, you'll see I tend to not draw tails much, if at all :P)

Meh, I like the armor as it is. I was going for a mix between practicality and aesthetics. For example, if you look at a lot of fantasy armor, it looks cool and intimidating, but if you really think of it, it would be absolutely terrible in combat. Plus, I think it has a rather sleek design ^.=.^
But, this is all my opinion of course :P

Well for starters its a great picture
You have thought trough it and designed the armor in a really nice way, it looks natural for the being under it and fits very well with the dragons physic. And I have always been weak for the way you made the armor going down the entire length of the tail x3
The shadows looks good and are well placed yet a question thou.. where are the highlights?
Or maybe it is I who doesn't really know what material or how the surface on the armor is like ^^;;
The pose looks good as he would be monitoring the area while he walks along the apparently very high building/wall as the two tiny dragons gives the feeling of height. But also the fact that the green area in the picture lacks details nor anything that gives away how height up they are does it feels like it way up above the ground.
Oh and also the left leg from our point of view. Just bellow the knee can you see that the part of his legs looks like it almost goes together into a thinner built part.
But in general its a lovely piece of art and shows that there is definitely potential of getting better as you have a really good base to stand on ^^
Keep up the good work and keep drawing ;3

Thanks for the critique ^.=.^
I started out by drawing the physique of the dragon's body, and then drew the armor over him, instead of on him (if that makes any sense)...
This was actually my second attempt at shading a colored picture.... Or is it my 5th? Anyway, it wasn't until a few days ago that I was aware of highlights, and that was because I was looking at some other art and real life objects, realizing what highlights are.
As far as the green... In the original picture, the outline of trees is somewhat visible, but FA resized the picture causing a slight loss in quality, specifically, all but eliminating the outline of trees, and making the red cloth of the armor seem a bit blotchy.
Oh, and about the leg... By the time I actually noticed, it was too late (to me) to do too much about it....
