my friend was macho army some time in 2011 or 2012 or something. But he got blown up by an IED.

not too blown up though. on accounta it was an open casket funeral.

Did you know what unit he was in?

I was wrong. He was a Marine of the 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. Had to go look it up. He got his insides emulsified during a foot patrol in Helmand Province if that means anything to you, goat.

And he was a bomb guy, canine handler and engineer.

He was our cross country team captain for two years. And I played hockey with him on a few peewee league teams. He was an all around decent person, but some times an arrogant prick. The website I got that service detail information from says he is one of God's Marines now...

It may appear I have little reverence for dead soldiers. Its kind of true; I find them to be victims, not heroes.
