The Kato Lion Fursuit Auction begins at the time of posting and will run through Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9pm Pacific Standard Time. Please only use the original thread to post bids but feel free to ask any questions in the comments section below. If you do not have an FA account, contact me and I can post a proxy bid for you. I can accept a 2-part payment plan, but the suit will be shipped only when paid in full. Opening bid $900, if winning bid is over $1,200 free shipping to Continental US, otherwise buyer pays actual shipping. I can hand-deliver in person at Rainfurrest.
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing the sale of my alternate lion character and fursuit, Kato Lion. He was a fun character I made soon after I joined the fandom as an alternate to Kijani's fursona, kind of a derpy, "loveable goofball" sort of lion. The backstory behind him is that he is the genetically mutated twin brother of another one of Snap E. Tiger's suits, Marf Lion, which has turned parts of him green.
Unfortunately, with Kijani 2.0 being made a couple years ago, I hardly ever have a chance to take Kato out anymore, and it's time for him to find a new home with someone who will better be able to enjoy Snap's fine work. I am also trying to raise some money to help pay for my dad's final expenses. As many of you know, dad passed away unexpectedly earlier this summer. His medical bills and funeral were not fully covered (anyone who has planned a funeral knows how ridiculously expensive they are), and my sister and I are pooling our money together to save my dad's house. Death really sucks, both emotionally and financially, so hopefully this will help!
Since snapetiger built Kato early in his return to fursuit building, he has become, in mine and others' opinion, one of the most talented makers in the fandom. Kato features ByCats4Cats' gorgeous signature multicolored "blended" mane, which Snap has used on many of his lions and other big cats, and also features padded digitigrade legs. The head is made on a hard foam "helmet" style base and is extremely sturdy and almost indestructible compared to foam-base heads.
In short, this is a very high quality fursuit that I have maintained well, and unfortunately didn't get a chance to wear as much as I would have liked over the years. Give him a new loving home!

Kato Lion fursuit specifications:
Measurements: If you are in the range you should fit the suit (it is a bit loose on me)
Height: 5'10-6'2
Waist: 36-40"
Inseam: 30-34"
Forehead: 22-24" (note that a little extra room was put in front of the eyes since I wear glasses in suit, if you do not, this can easily be modded by adding foam or other padding to the back of the head).
Footpaw shoe size: US Men's 9-9.5
Arm circumference: up to 15" (upper arm/bicep), up to 12" (elbow)
Hand length from wrist to middle finger tip: up to 8.5"
AUCTION RULES
The auction will start as soon as this posting is up, and will end at 9pm Pacific Standard Time on Sunday, September 13. Feel free to comment or ask questions, but please only use the initial thread to bid (reply to previous bid ONLY if you are bidding) to avoid confusion. Bidding will start at $900, please bid in increments of at least $5. If there are any bids between 8:30-9pm on the closing night of the auction, the auction will be extended by 30 minutes for those to protect their bid and to allow others a chance to place another bid. This process will continue until 30 minutes has passed since the last bid. Kijani will announce the auction closed at the appointed time, or after 30 minutes has passed.
If you need to retract a bid for any reason, contact me via note and I will take care of it.
If the winning bid exceeds $1,200, free shipping will be included anywhere in the continental United States (international buyers must pay actual shipping), if the winning bid is less than $1,200, buyer must pay actual shipping. If you are attending Rainfurrest 2015, I will be happy to deliver in person at the con!
Payment may be made via personal check, money order or Paypal. (I will contact winner after auction ends to arrange payment)
A 2-part payment plan can be accommodated, but the suit will not be shipped until paid in full.
In case the winning bidder backs out or cannot/does not pay (or cannot be contacted within 3 business days), the 2nd high bidder will have the option to purchase, and so forth.

This was the very first fursuit created under the ByCats4Cats.com name. Kijani put a lot of faith into me allowing me to create this character for him when I really had no discernible style nor customer base. Its this suit that got ByCats4Cats started. Its definitely as sentimental for me as it must be for Kijani.
If the bidding goes over $1500, I will make the winner of this auction a new set of hands and feet in their size and ship them at no charge.
