not as bad as some other large-caliber rifles for the noise and kick.. the barrett is surprisingly well-balanced, and dissipates both sound and recoil a lot better than you'd think for a .50 BMG.
Still, you'd be a moron to fire anything larger than a .22 without ear protection unless it was absolutely necessary.

I had a Steyr Aug in airsoft and there's two way of Helding one, arms front of magazine or Behind the magazine, in fact that depend of people and how long your arms are, me i ever held mine aug with the arm in front of the mag, and a friend of my who are little always held it arm behind.
Have you seen how soldiers hold M16's or any other "normal" type of rifle, when they are not aiming? Above their Chests... That's the way how you hold the Bullpup type of rifle when you're not aiming... like this: http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:A.....mp;ty=90" rel="nofollow ugc noreferrer noopener">Soldier and his Bullpup
And here's another http://www.theblaze.com/stories/see.....150,i:34" rel="nofollow ugc noreferrer noopener">Moving soldiers

Sir, there is a reason I'm jealous of you. And you keep reminding me of it!
Your atmospheric and light effects are marvelous. Simply marvelous. Your wind-tossed stormclouds are believable and dynamic - the light coming off the fennec and the wall both look wonderful!
I do have one thing to ask, though. For someone who usually puts careful detail into the guns, vehicles, weapons and armor of their drawings, it seems odd that this rifle would be so strangely placed. First of all, the butt of the stock is resting on the outside of his right shoulder, as if he were casually pointing it at someone 80 degrees to his left.
Then, the magazine of the rifle seems to defy space-time. The magazine appears to be coming directly down from the rifle, like any normal AK -- but then it's in front of the fennec's right wrist - which means that he must be holding the rifle in a very, very awkward position.
(Of course, please don't be angry with me for pointing these out - if you ever want a good laugh, take a look at some of my gun sketches! Ugh)
On a more content-related note, the high neck guards and the groin piece of this scout remind me of a toned-down and stylized version of a bomb disposal suit - not necessarily the best armor for a scout, but then again, a minefield or other dangers might require it. Would you be so kind as to fill my curious mind in with the details?
One more thing - you should indeed be proud of your linelessness, and I'm very impressed! Would I be so lucky (and would you be so kind) as for you to send me the event file so I can see how you did it?

First of all, thank you very much, I'm glad to hear that there's a point of my work which enjoy so much as to be jealous of it, even though I do not like to provoke negative feelings towards me ;b
As I stated above, I've seen many austrian soldiers hold it that way, so it's either really comfortable or just the way it's supposed to be held when it's not being fired o.O hell if I know, but yeah, personally, I can't imagine it feeling very nice.
As for the armor, well X3 personally, I find any soldier on todays battlefield to be under-armored. The picture you linked me to is about the kind of armor I would agree to be standard issue, but it needs a lot more leg protection >.O so yeah, that's just the reason why all my armor's (even for scouts) look immensely thick. I realize the weight of todays protectives is a factor, but I'm asuming this to be more of a futuristic type.
And yes, I'll gladly send you the file, if you come online on AIM :3

People tend to hold 'em like that when they're just walking around, as you get a little less tired with your arm closer to your chest than wrapped around the rifle. They make types of sling that hold non-bullpup rifles in that position, I wouldn't know about bullpup, no experience with em.
Also those ears may look cute and fuzzy, but he can hear you switch off your safety at 80 yards.

I have 3 fire arms in different variations of that round
I have an SKS ~ 7.63X39
Mosin Naget ~ 7.62X54
Tokarev TT-33 ~ 7.62X25
If you can't tell im a fan of the caliber! lol
And just as an FHI, a Swedish man has come up with a fully functional Recoil reducer for the .50 round! You CAN fire it repetitively! Its not at all cheap, or cost effective....yet, but it does work, the only problem is the .50 cal rifle is heavy as is, slapping this puppy on it almost doubles its weight!

The problem with the .50 bmg is the cost. You used to be able to get it at $1.50 per shot, now you're looking at $6 per round for any ammo worth shooting.
I do agree with you on the need for leg armor, the best I was able to do was make a kevlar kilt on my last tour. Unfortunately the real problem is weight. My interceptor body armor with rifle plates weighed as much as my suit of medieval full plate. Add to that a helmet, 2 quarts of water, a weapon, 210+ rounds of ammo, night vision, food, and anything thing else the mission requires and you are barely able to get out of a truck. A foot patrol and its all you can do to just keep walking upright
As for Aussie troops I can't say, I've only seen them twice and both times thier weapons were back slung or in my grubby paws. >:) The AUG is a sweet piece of hardware.

Meep! Sorry, I'm terrible at checking my messages.
I'd like to say I know a thing or two about heavy infantry and mounted kit. If you are still interested in talking I can see about setting up a chat when I finish getting the new house settled.
Speaking of armor I just started moving my smithy to the new house earlier today.

Scared of the gun? naaahh, don't think so, it's the goggles! push his brow and eyebrows down, that's why he looks like that. If he were afraid of the gun he'd be doing something else, like being a florist.
By the way, did the link i posted helped snowrose understand how certain letters are pronounced?

I know the weapon isn't from israel, but that's the first thing I thought about. I don't remember where fennecs live, but it's a desert.
I agree with AdamAdam78. The way he holds the rifle, with his arm between the magazine and grip, doesn't seem natural. He can't put stock to shoulder without releasing his right hand. I suppose that's a flaw of a bullpup design. With a long magazine, you can't bring the rifle to your shoulder quickly if you hold it close to your chest with friction straps.
