A wonderful reference sheet done as a (Slightly early) birthday present from my great friend
wolfertech ! He's an awesome guy, go give him watches, and faves, and love.
This is Robin in his current form, as detailed as I have ever had him, lookin' classy in his new robes!
1. Robin himself is not technically a HYDRA, so much as he as a Fae. Fae on Robin's homeworld are shapeshifters, and they're born as a particular species. Usually they come up with various odd colorations and patterns, or body parts that wouldn't ordinarily be there... In Robin's case, this manifests as his vibrant dragonfly wings. Many people ask about his three heads and whether they have separate personalities. The answer is that they do not. The hydra has one soul, which houses his memories and personality, yet three brains, each of which works like a core of a computer. He can multitask effectively... Or end up having an internal debate that gets rather external.
2. Robin is a very... Hungry hydra. His belly gets the better of him more often than not, and as a magical fae creature, what he feeds on is kindness and the love of his friends. The kinder they are, the more spiritual energy he harmlessly shaves off, the more full he feels... And mean spirited people give him nasty bellyaches. However, proximity to the 'food source' in question gives him even more spiritual energy, so Robin has quite the taste for his friends (And were he to meet anyone like him, wouldn't mind them having a taste for him either) who end up in his belly more often than not. And as a fae's body adapts to their personality, Robin's arrow marking appeared on his tongues, to make it easy for prey to know JUST where they belong.
3. In yet another prime example of a fae's body adapting to their personality, Robin's tailspade changed from merely an adorable marking, to yet another way into the ravenous reptile's belly. Though it's teeth appear sharp, it wouldn't hurt a fly, mostly due to it being entirely under Robin's control. Well... Mostly. Sometimes it gets a bit peckish in the night when he happens to be asleep.
4. And what happens to those Robin eats? Well, if they aren't simply coughed back up in short order, than a completely harmless digestion will take place, painlessly melting the prey into a multicolored puddle to be absorbed into a layer of pudge on the hydra's gut. Once there, a mosaic icon of their face appears, usually caught in the expression they had just before melting. This leads to a surprising amount of blushing faces. The prey's consciousness is stored inside the icon, and they can clearly think or sense from that location. Robin is not a lethal hydra, and his prey will reform completely... Whenever he gets around to it.
5. As is clearly established by his fabulous fashion sense, Robin happens to be a connoisseur of the arcane arts. And what masterful magician or whimsical wizard would be complete without a magic wand? In Robin's case, his wand is carved into the shape of a cooking spoon, and made with dreamstone caps and with a nightmare stone grip, giving him a firm control over dreamworld power, which is a potent energy source. It also contains a Crystalline Vault set into it's tip. A crystalline vault is a wonderful magical tool that breaks down any item it's set into when a specific gesture is used, causing that item to become pure information stored inside the crystal until it's retrieved. In this way, a mage could carry his whole house with him in a backpack.
6. Yet another of Robin's favorite toys is his Tenderizer Mallet, a collapsing meat tenderizer inlaid with a few runes to make it completely harmless if the right grip on it's handle is used. If the right grip IS used, the hammer is weightless to it's wielder, and harmless to it's target, although it will inflict them with a 'softbody' spell, causing them to deform and flatten as though they were a cartoon (If they weren't already) into a waffle-like shape. If held with an alternate grip, the hammer still remains weightless to the wielder, but is no longer affected by the Softbody spell, and as such is a wonderful self defense item.
7. A fae's clothing tend to become a defining part of them, and after long enough, they literally become part of them. In Robin's case, his hat is so much a part of him that anything he wishes to put inside will go directly into his stomach, be that food, objects, or friends. On the other hand, it can be used to pull them out as well. Robin finds endless amusement in pulling the 'Rabbit out of a hat' trick with all of his friends this way.
8. Yet another of Robin's fancy toys, his mystical rolling pin has a few interesting elements. The first is that it can be 'pulled' or 'pushed' to shorten or lengthen it at will, making it useful for any situation. The second is that rolling it forward over any living creature causes it to cast a 'softbody' spell on the creature, making them particularly easy to flatten out like dough. The third is that rolling it BACKWARDS over a flattened creature causes them to be converted into a magical scroll that holds all of the arcane information about the victim. Reading the scroll aloud and with purpose will convert it back into the victim, while rewriting it or using it in various rituals could change the victim's species, gender, or more besides.
9. Robin's pride and joy, the Omnomnomicon is a magical tome containing (Almost) every spell ever created for the culinary school of magical arts, a school entirely created by the hydra himself. Half cookbook, half spellbook, it has a recipe for nearly every person and thing, and a spell for them to boot. The Crystalline Vault in the cover makes it very easy for the hydra to safely hold said book in his robes (Or stomach) with no difficulty or damage, able to pull it out at a moment's notice.
