I've played hundreds of hours on CiV and about 20 hours on Civ: BE Rising Tide. I can say Rising Tide actually makes the game enjoyable, like CiV Vanilla to CiV: Gods & Kings. I enjoyed the space lore much more. It's not perfect yet since it's still lacking in several areas (internal trade routes and artifact buildings are OP, AI is still pretty bad, war score and ultrasonic fences are broken). If you don't expect perfection you may be delightfully surprised. Definitely check it out though for the next steam sale. XD
