I've always enjoyed Pokemon, but never got into drawing much fanart of the series. So I think it's time that changed! The plan is to make a series of sketches of humanized Pokemon, but I want to try something a little different. Instead of trying to make the artwork look digital, I'm using a pencil brush in Photoshop. I really enjoy the texture it gives drawings. In time, I'd like for these to go from sketches to more finished artwork, even going so far as to color some completely with the pencil brush. I have quite a number of Pokemon singled out with ideas for this series.
First on the list of course, is Lucario! Wielding the power of Mega Evolution, she's ready for a fight. I thought about making her more muscular, but she relies a lot on the power of aura (and high percentage in Smash). So it wouldn't be necessary for her to have rippling muscles. And that led to her pose looking more elegant. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how she turned out.
