OMG yay! I finally get to post her! She has been waiting to be posted shortly after the first MYO event in which I thought of her after it had finished. So now here she is! At least all this time has given me time to think on her story/personality.
Zabrina wanders the desert and find those who have strayed, lost their way, or collapsed in the expanse of the desert. Due to her knowledge of the desert, she knows where most of the watering holes are in her area as well as knowledge of how to find water if she is not close to any water locations. If she locates an individual, she will typically guide them to one of these locations or provide water to them before leading them to the edge of the desert. This caring nature has gotten her into trouble as she has rescued the wrong sort on more than one occasion but it has not stopped her caring, strong, confident, almost stubborn demeanor. She is used to walking for long distances with little food or water. Another talent of hers is to be able to predict weather phenomenon like sandstorms, rain, and/or temperature shifts. This ability to accurately predict the weather has gained her the title weather witch in her tribe. This is one of the reasons her tribe takes her very seriously when it comes time to move to a new location. They also listen because she is out in the desert so often taking in where the herds have moved and where the vegetation is sprouting. They usually take all their sand striders (scouts) very seriously as they know the conditions of the desert.
Zabrina means fruitful desert flower. Other origins for the name Zabrina include American and English. The cactus flower symbolizes warmth, protection and endurance. The cactus flower is a symbol of maternal love because it can endure and thrive in harsh conditions and therefore symbolic of a mother's unconditional love. A mother's protective qualities conveyed by the cactus flower due to its medicinal properties. Her design predominately comes from the Thomson's Gazelle which I loved for the broad black stripe along their sides.
