Here are four canine superheroes I've used in some of my stories.
Going from left to right, there's Super Genie, Multi-Mutt, Giant Girl and Electro-Mutt.
Here's their bios:
Names: Ben Maddog (Electro-Mutt) & Rupee Punjab-Maddog (Super Genie)
Species: Canine Sable Collie (Ben) and Mixed Breed (Rupee)
Height: He’s 5’ 9" and she’s 5’ 7”
Weight: He’s 184 lbs and she’s 113 lbs.
Age: He’s 47 and she’s at least 200 (but she’s not telling)
Occupation: He’s the lead attorney of the Maddog Law Firm of Atlanta, she’s a homemaker
Description: Ben’s fur has the classic brownish-red and white collie markings. His costume consists of a cape-less “Superman” style outfit, yellow with a green thunderbolt on his chest
Rupee has a basic female anthromorphic canine body covered in brown fur with small patches of white all over. Her costume is a simple blue genie outfit with a veil she wears over her face to hide her identity.
Weapons: None
Powers: Electro-Mutt can become pure electricity, using his mind to regulate his voltage and intensity. Super Genie has magical abilities learned over centuries of practice
Weaknesses: Electro-Mutt’s main weakness is water (which can short him out). Although her magic gives her amazing powers, Super Genie is still as vulnerable and frail as any normal furson when she lets her guard down. It’s Rupee’s magic that keeps her looking so young, so if she ever loses it, she would age quickly and die.
History: Rupee was born in the hill country outside of Bombay, India to a family with a legacy of magic. Her father was a magic apprentice and immediately placed Rupee in a hidden Magic Academy deep in the jungle. While she was away during her first year at the Academy, her entire village was wiped out during a battle with British soldiers. After losing her entire family, young Rupee decided to dedicate herself to becoming the most powerful sorceress of good magic in all of India. When she was a teenager, she met Viccan, an equally powerful wolf who shared her goals and dreams. The two fell madly in love with each other and got married after their graduation. Over time, Viccan became more distant, becoming more obsessed with his ambitions of obtaining magical power. When Rupee continued to refuse to turn to evil forms of magic, he divorced her and ran off, leaving her with to fend for herself and their baby daughter Shamansta. Under the influence of her powerful mother, Shamansta grew up into a skilled sorceress in her own right. Hearing this, one night Viccan returned, sneaking into Rupee’s house intending on mating with teenaged Shamansta in an attempt to steal her powers. Rupee saved her just in time, before the evil Viccan could rape her. Years later, Viccan married another young sorceress named Delhi and they had a son, Shankar. But Delhi also refused to participate in Viccan’s evil schemes, so he tried to kill her. He thought he succeeded but the clever Delhi used all her magical energy to escape into the parallel universe of Quad. Viccan then lied to Shankar, telling the child his mother was killed by wild beasts in the jungle. Eventually, Shankar learned the truth and fought his father to a draw, barely escaping his vengeance. Meanwhile, Rupee and Shamansta blended into regular society, eventually coming to America during the big immigration wave of the early 20th century. During a land dispute with a known crime boss, Rupee sought the help of Atlanta attorney Ben Maddog, a widower with six children. During the course of the legal proceeding, the crime boss made several attempts to kill Rupee. In his last attempt, Ben got shot trying to shield Rupee from gunfire. After using her magic to capture the crime boss, Rupee turned to the dying body of Ben and cast a healing spell upon him. In her panic to save his life, Rupee’s recited the spell incorrectly. It did more than just heal him, it turned him into the walking electrical powerhouse Electro-Mutt. When Rupee confessed her deed, instead of being angry at her, he was grateful to still be alive. The two canines fell in love and got married. Ben then talked Rupee into becoming a superhero, using her special magic for good and thus Super Genie came into existence. For many years, the two fought crime together, many times teaming up with their friends Multi-Mutt and Giant Girl. When the U.N. Superhero Act of 2000 was enacted, she and her husband chose to retire and not register with the government. In recent years, the two have resurfaced from time to time to help fight crime once again. Ben Maddog is one of the most famous attorneys in America. He and his daughters have won many high profile cases.
Personality: Ben is the classic Southern gentleman, always polite and helpful. In the courtroom and as Electro-Mutt, Ben uses every means at his disposal to go after criminals. Four of his six daughters are also attorneys and all work with their father at the law firm. His only son Roger is a veteran Atlanta police officer.
Rupee always tries to be encouraging to everyone she meets, even those who disagree with her. At times she’s rather reserved, but with centuries of wisdom behind her, she understands how to deal with people. She’s soft spoken and very friendly, even when she’s wearing the costume of Super Genie.
Name: Prairie Mason (Multi-Mutt) & Rose Cooper-Mason (Giant Girl)
Age: He’s 51 and she’s 45
Species: Canine (Golden Retriever)
Height: He’s 5' 9” and she’s 5’ 8”
Weight: He’s 170 lbs and she’s 110lbs.
Weapons: None
Current occupation: He’s the lead Attorney, Mason Law Firm of Phoenix Arizona while Rose is his personal secretary
Description: Both have golden yellow fur covering their entire bodies. His costume is a cape-less “Superman” design, blue with the letters “MM” on his chest. She wears a red leotard with the letters “GG” on her chest.
Powers: Multi-Mutt can make duplicates/clones of himself at will. He can easily and quickly produce 14 duplicates, but could make more if he wanted to. His duplicates can be killed/destroyed by attackers or disappear by his own command, but as long as one of “him” remains, Multi-Mutt stays alive.
Giant Girl can grow to a height of fifty feet easily, can become larger if she concentrates
Weakness: Since each “copy” shares a common mind, the more duplicates Mutli-Mutt makes, the harder they are to control. Also, producing over 14 duplicates taxes his physical and mental strength, so he doesn’t do it often.
Although Giant Girl can become huge, her strength is still normal in relation to her larger size. If she tries to grow larger than fifty feet, it takes much focus and energy to maintain it. When she loses consciousness, she shrinks back to her normal size.
History: Prairie Mason was born in Macon, Georgia into a family of meager means. Young Prairie worked hard in school, earning college scholarships to help him fulfill his dreams of becoming a great lawyer. He also worked many part time jobs to pay his tuition, including a month as a volunteer test subject in a clinical lab experiment. Believing he was receiving a harmless gamma ray treatment, instead Prairie Mason’s body accidentally absorbed a barrage of beta and delta ray radiation that altered his body chemistry. Several days later, when a tough street gang tried to rob him, with little forethought, he multiplied into fourteen duplicates and beat the large gang up. This was when he decided he could put his new ability to good use as a superhero. During his first job working as a case attorney, he met a young canine named Rose Cooper. After a year long courtship, they married. Each one never told the other about their superpowers until after they were married, but this revelation only made them love each other more. For many years, the two fought crime together and sometimes working with their friends Electro-Mutt and Super Genie. When the U.N. Superhero Act of 2000 was passed, they both went underground. Only in recent times did the two of them resurface in their super costumes, the first time when they helped Super Collie, Lady Liberty and Crimson Cur fend off a dirty bomb threat in Colmaton (read “The Salesman Always Rings Twice”)
Prairie Mason is one of the most famous lawyers in America, winning many high profile cases over the past twenty years.
Personality: Both Prairie and Rose are very friendly and kind. Prairie is just as aggressive in costume as he is in the courtroom. The couple have four grown children but none of them are attorneys.
