Well, it's about time I start 2016 off in a really big way; so I have something special to present in my first "EFF" ("Extraordinarily Fat Furries") comic gag of the New Year...
Earlier on, January 7th was declared "National Bobblehead Day" - an occasion to celebrate that novelty item (usually a giveaway at sporting events), in which a miniature figure has a head that wobbles when vibrated (and is usually kept atop the dashboards of cars)...
(I am not ashamed to admit, I possess one of those novelty items, in the form of a Joe DiMaggio 'bobblehead' - which I got at one of the last "Legends Games" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where veteran baseball players converged to play a special game for charity.)
Not to be outdone, I'd decided to take things to the next level... a lower level, but a level, nonetheless. And I'd decided to declare January 15th as "National Bobblebelly Day"!
A 'bobblebelly' (for the uninformed) works on the same principle as a 'bobblehead', except its the whole round body that does the wobbling (supported by a pair of weighted legs with a spring on top - inside the hollow frame of the character). Of course, this concept isn't new, as there are fat humans (in the form of sumo wrestlers and generally overweight people) depicted in these alternate novelty items.
But I'd created (on paper) variations of 'bobblebelly' figures, with familiar 'fat furry' characters as its models. For this initial offering, I had chosen three familiar fatties who have been 'round (pun intended) long before they'd joined "Fur Affinity"...
They are (from left to right)
Tolstoy the bear,
Captain Furry the lion, and
Toner the husky - with each corpulent character standing (and wobbling, naturally) on their own individual pedestal!
If you like what you see, let me know, and I might create (again, on paper) more "EFF" strips with additional 'fat furry' characters as future 'bobblebelly' models!
