The winds beyond my windows hold aloft
A myriad of whirling flakes of snow
So gentle in touch and wondrously soft:
Descending by waltz, eternally slow.
I wish there was a way for you to see
Such a gorgeous and idyllic display;
That you would stand here now alongside me
Together on our first Valentine's Day.
I haven't much to give in terms of wealth
(Not to mention we're an ocean apart)
And yet in spite of my horrific health
I do not even mind you stole my heart.
It's night-time now and I look up above:
No star will ever outshine you, my love.As I am typing this I'm looking west, because past the Atlantic Ocean and the setting sun there waits the kindest, most wonderful person in the world.
And this poem belongs to them.
