Alright, I tried to do this in a manner I thought was reasonable but hate and drama ensued. I am done, I am not catering to people here anymore. The amount of hate messages and emails I have gotten is just disappointing. The furry community is NOT a supportive and understanding community when you fuck with their porn. Take away the porn and people turn into entitled assholes. How dare I make you click a link to view something. Well fuck it, I am out. I do not make a living here so I don't know why I have stayed this long.

I have my reasons for leaving this site and in the end they do not matter. I was going to make a long list of the staff issues, dated site, ads, etc, but who cares? Everyone knows about the problems, why keep beating a dead horse. If I want to leave, its my right to do so.

At this point I have removed about 80% of my gallery, I will be working on removing the rest over the next week. I have and art pack available, other sites and e621 where you can view my older works if you would like. New art will be posted to Tumblr and FurryNetwork.

Thanks for the few good years. I hope to see a few of you elsewhere.

Pretty much mirroring my same feelings, and there's the FA Extender that I use on FireFox to organize all of what I save, so in reality, if there was something like that for the other sites, you would see me switching really fast.

The Chrome one still can't save images, because Chrome doesn't have an identical API. However, there's now another downloader that only works with grabbing an artist's entire gallery, which means there is an API now.

Sad that youve had such a bad time with this site. I'll be checking out FN a little and see if its something i would like. I tend to stay away from tumblr and twitter because i dont like the format and they kind of confuse me. Hopefully i FN will be to my liking as i love your art, and i have a feeling FA is going to start suffering as the more well knowns are basically being chased out by the crap admin staff.

tumblr and twitter are not gallery sites, so you're not wrong. you can not browse them like galleries. it is not a learning curve problem, it is a web site problem. and you cannot join furrynetwork without a beta key. it is sad but i do not think we can really browse tojo's art anymore. maybe in a few years if furrynetwork opens their doors.

Have you attempted to sign up? They hand out tons of keys all the time, it's just a steady fixed rate instead of free-for-all. Everyone I know has only waited two weeks at most during their big push during the opening of the beta. You can also still browse profiles and submissions same as FA without being signed in, same as FA only the porn is blocked if you're not registered. So short of being able to fav/comment, you can still get their journal posts and links.

Using Incognito mode so I'm not signed in, can see their entire gallery, and you CAN view the porn even as a guest unlike FA, it just has a content warning thumbnail you have to click 'show anyway' warning away.

So there's no reason not to view art on FN whether you got in to beta or not.

FA has made it so artists can no longer make a living and popular artists are getting attacked by mods and trouble tickets all the time for just being popular and wanting to make a living, ie reminders, adopts, journals saying commissions are open. Artists are just cattle to fa now

Egarious amounts of reminders were not allowed back when I was an admin. Goodness knows I've seen lots of people reposting reminders, several times a day, about auctions, adopts, or commissions.

I can't speak as to specifics for the current situation, but they've always not been allowed as per the spam rules. Has something changed?

Also as a former admin, even when I disliked someone I didn't take action just because a trouble ticket was filed. I only took action if I felt there was something that needed me to do or say something. And in any cases where I felt my personal feelings and opinions were biasing me one way or another, I tossed the ticket to someone else.

Reminders via submissions weren't allowed, but there was never a rule against journals, as far as I know. The rule against submissions must've changed though, seeing as how many people post reminders now...

That said, just because you acted as a fair mod doesn't mean the rest are like that...

Ok, first off, i apologize for making this comment an entire month later lmao, but!
I DO make my living off of furaffinity. I stream incredibly often, almost 5 days a week. I dont always advertise my streams, but when i do, i post a stream notice, and take it down as soon as im done, and sometimes sooner.
What are other artists doing wrong? How are they getting in trouble?

I think the idea is to harm FA(the site) in the process. The less content there is on FA the less value there is in browsing it I guess. Though I agree it mostly harms new people. Long time users zero in on new posts.

Friendly reminder to all commissioners:
An artist has exactly zero obligation to post/host or even acknowledge your commission unless stated otherwise in their ToS.
Always keep a full resolution copy(and backups) of anything you commission and always get the artist's written permission to post the work to your own gallery where ever that may be.

Departing with a little grace would have been far more preferred than the middle finger that Tojo gave us on the way out. It's hard, no it's nearly impossible to respect someone who in one hand generalizes their watchers when they say "The furry community is NOT a supportive and understanding community", context aside, it was rude and classless. Once that bridge is burned it's not possible to rebuild it if you come back, the damage is done and no amount of recanting can undo it. Then on the other hand expect ones own watchers to follow you over to another site when they probably have 6 other social media websites that they can hardly keep up with. Abusing ones watches and "consumers and buyers of YOUR own products" is not likely to garner a whole lot of love or keep them buying or consuming of ones own products.

I should not be so bothered by it, but then again the middle finger the "your ungrateful and you should love me because I'm a god" undertone in my face with a come follow me expression makes my blood boil. We would have been more understanding if they had ARTICULATED the issues and the desire to change the format of the content, but that was not so.

Meh. I never once thought that I was being referred to in any of those sweeping statements because I know they do not apply to me. I don't really feel like she's talking about the whole community, either-- rather, they are sweeping statements, yes, but they seem to refer to the majority of her watchers rather than all of them. Especially with the "I hope to see a few of you elsewhere" bit at the end.

Tumblr and Twitter have also been given as options where people can view her art, not just FN. And those two sites are very likely ones for people to already be on, so for a lot of people, they don't even have to go to a site they're not already on.

I have encountered some very self-entitled furs, and I don't doubt that large numbers of them threw hissy fits when she didn't put their porn in the exact place and manner they wanted. That kind of thing would annoy the hell out of me too, tbh. :/ I never got the "you should love me because I'm a god" vibe from the description. The sense I got was someone who has tried to be reasonable, it didn't work, and they reached their boiling point.

Art is a full time job, I don't think they have any other source of income by nature of the art they have posted, which is many hundreds of hours of work, one can't have a full time job and be a full time artist. no, consider this, she had 27 thousand watchers on FA, and over 800000 page views, that's years of work to build up a following, to nurture and grow that kind of following is hard, really hard (ironically it's all because of her content). They did not think this through and acted purely on emotion. Consider if you will the format of the other sites, that are not art friendly and FN is so new it wont have the user base. Historically speaking, companies that makes bad business choices usually go out of business. Web companies that screw over their users lose users, car companies, whatever companies. This is not some small mistake, this was thoughtless emotion to get out without considering the impact.

I can't stand Tumblr, so sadly this means I won't really be keeping track of your endeavours. Nuking your gallery or making things more difficult to consume in general is more harmful to your supporters then it is for FA staff. You can't really blame them for losing support in that regard.

I'm sceptical to assume as a default, that the heat you are receiving is merely entitlement issues. There was a YCH trade between you and Kabier that was payed in full over 2 years ago that was simply never addressed, despite multiple attempts to contact you and trying to keep the winner patient on our behalf.

The only times I really see users discontent with FA staff is when they feel they are above the rules.

The real issue lies in the fact that this fandom is alive because of art and artists are alive because of the commissions. Even if all the big names were to change, your average commissioner will still stay here and never leave, meaning that the actual traffic that "matters" the most won't be happening. You don't see artists filling their slots in a few seconds after opening anywhere else.

Not even that, it's just that even with artists leaving most of the big names still live here so FA keeps getting all the traffic it needs. Unless there was a mass exodus of all the big names of FA leaving for other sites, I don't think people are going to move too far away from FA.

Sofurry has a better layout in my opinion but I still come here cause it's where the people I am most familiar with are.

FA is due to lose it's spot pretty soon.
Before FA, VCL used to hold the spot - now only the "old school" furries still maintain their VCL galleries.

If FA doesn't totally overhaul their site & staff, a replacement will.

It is a god damn shame when the members of a community are also it's weakest links. It's rather dissappointing indeed that we just can't leave well enough alone and respect people that are gracious enough to bless our eyes the way artists do. "Why did you go to patreon" "Why are you doing YCHs and not standard commissions" "stop doing vore/rape/hyper/etc" blah blah fuckin booho shutthefuckup. I am sure this comment will get lost in a sea of drama or pats on the back congratulating your big move and exit, but it leaves one thing to be said..

A lot of people take issue with this sight, and other sights, but I have yet to see a single time someone has made a display as well as multiple journals about leaving and it had it go over well. Many furries (okay many older furries..) have seen this kind of post made with some frequency to the point they simply see any big exit post/ journal as a long winded "I am taking my ball and going home!" speech. Regardless if the person posting is a big name, or just a nobody, it never ends well, cause it draws quite a lot of attention.

Simply put, there is really no graceful exit strategy after one has made journals or put up multiple submissions over issues faced, they already have drawn in all attention from everyone who watches them, the fanboys and the anti-fanboys alike. Don't get me wrong, it sucks to see you go, I do enjoy your art. but I am making this post from as much of a neutral ground as possible, putting popularity and art status aside because that's just not really part of my point.

Some times its just better to go keep an exit short and sweet and just tell people where you are going and that you aint falling off the earth.
