Okay, so, I've read the three and a bit chapters you've posted of this, in reverse order because I found 4 first. I've got a couple things to say. :D
First, this is awfully rough. So much happens in such a short time, and everything falls together far too nicely to get Jeremy to where he is in Chapter 2. He does some great character growth throughout this section (as far as regaining his confidence), and you establish Rey as the strong, great character he is. Truth told, all your characters are great, they're very strong and seem to have a lot of history and personality.
But getting back to my main point, we almost don't need to see this chapter. I'm not really interested in how Rey and Jeremy got together, just that they are. You metnion to us later that Rey rescued Jeremy from his ship; I'd say that's really about all we need. The story about him regaining his confidence and becoming ship's navigator is enjoyable, but again falls together a little too easily. I think it could be left out. It says a lot to me that the other chapters work very well as stand-alone stories, and as such, they kind of don't need this as an opening.
All told, this is definitely the weakest chapter out of everything I've read. But that's good, because it's not exactly horrible. ;) This is a fun story, and reminds me of my days watching Star Trek TNG as a kid. I definitely appreciate having some enjoyable sci-fi to read once again. Looking forward to the next installment. ^v^
